X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (Casting, Rumors, Pics till release)

The "Iron Man" novelization is excellent, it's written by David as well. The sequel is written by someone I've never heard of. Peter David also wrote "The Incredible Hulk" and is quite good. Basically all the David written novelizations are what you would expect of someone of his caliber.

Very cool. I couldn't tell who she was with, but I'm assuming since this is dealing with the Hellfire Club, that Emma is a villain (at least starters)?
 
Yeah. I had my wisdom teeth out on Friday and well, I'd never had surgery before and didn't exactly know what the vicodin the surgeon gave me really was- so I was out of my mind for three damn days. Now that it's finally getting out of my system and I'm returning to as normal as I get :) I thought, yeah was that X-Men trailer in English or did I just imagine that? I felt like I was going through the Stargate! I kept telling my husband it was like The Time Tunnel, but he'd never seen that show and couldn't picture what I meant!

Sigh. I'm glad it's over and there's really X-Men goodness!

Out of interest, how does your husband like sharing you with Bean and Fassbender? ;)
 
Emma's role in the film isn't clear at this point except that she seems a member of the Hellfire Club. I assume she'll start out as a villain just like in the comics. It's interesting though that they decided to use the Frank Quietly costume. He really did sex her up with that first New X-Men cover image lol. I still have that issue.
 
I think that if this one is a box office success there will be a trilogy. Perhaps we'll see Scott, Jean, and Storm in those one as the time line in the films progress.

I love the X-Men, I can't stand Thor. And if Thor has the better movie I'm going to be heartbroken.

First Class already lost points with me for having January Jones in it, but I decided I'll give it a shot still.
 
What's wrong with JJ, she's a cold frigid bitch on Mad Men or has become one. Not too familiar with Emma Frost's personality, but I don't see anything wrong with the casting.
 
January Jones is probably the next best choice they could have gone for after Alice Eve had to leave. Personally I was all psyched for Alice but January seems like a very good choice from the little we've seen of her so far.

I'd wager that for you Thor is going to suck just because of your admitted bias towards the character.

No matter how X-Men is, your bound to like it more despite January Jones.

I hope both are good and I'm really looking forward to THOR!!
 
Yeah if you already don't like a character...chances are you're not gonna like a movie based on that character. What a weird statement to make.

From what I remember of Mad Men, and the stories I've seen featuring Emma, I think January Jones is a great choice for the character. At the very least she does look pretty close to how the character has appeared and she is a great actress.

There have been plenty of times where someone has done an amazing job playing a character totally different than the ones they've played in the past.
