X-MEN: FIRST CLASS (Casting, Rumors, Pics till release)

Except Fillion never gets cast in any big studio roles. :(

If he gets another comic book role, though, he could be the new Evans or Reynolds. Fassbender for Doctor Strange! Fassbender for the Flash!

I still think he needs to be Aquaman or the Sub-Mariner (check out his Guinness commercial from some years ago to see what I mean).

^ Oh man...what a great suggestion! Fassbender would seriously rock it as Namor! IMPERIUS REX MO FO's!!! Yes I can totally see him as an established Namor. I know that Dwayne Johnson was once attached to a Sub-Mariner film but never really liked that choice. I always saw Dwayne as a prime candidate for Teth-Adam in a Shazam movie.

Haha. Yeah I'm not sure though that a "Sub-Mariner" project is high on Marvel Studios priority right now. I know Atlantis was on Nick Fury's sit-board at the end of "Iron Man 2" that got everyone excited as was Wakanda. There are not a lot of actors that would be able to pull off Namor in a convincing manner in my opinion. The same goes for Aquaman.

Please, Patrick Duffy beat them all decades ago with "The Man from Atlantis".:p

Been there, done that.:rolleyes::lol:

Those fan made posters are prime examples of what I was talking about several pages ago about Fox dropping the ball on the posters. This film is an excellent example of what i was talking about playing around with the time period motif, etc. I love all of those.

Speaking of Fox dropping the ball Admiral. There is this BAnd of Brothers Jump out of an Airplane thing going on where the actors are doing a parachute jump to raise money for A Winters memorial and BOB statue or something. Fassbender wants to do it, just a matter of schedule. I don't think McCovy is.

However, since both their leads were involved, you think someone at Fox or the X-Men producers or something would be actively supporting and donating to this. While I don't think they really want these contracted for the sequels guys to jump out of a plane, man, can you have a better promo op?

I think a lot of the fanmade retro material is cool, and in this tech age, it is in its way, its own word of mouth. Instead of telling folks about something we make graphics and videos nowadays. However, there is a difference between letting viral and popular anticipation do your work for you in a smart manner- and face it it can't be a controlled manner. We forget viral originally had a negative connotation in its meaning.

Unfortunately, sometimes I think Fox or its marketeers just look damn lazy. Even if they didn't announce merchandising and material to come in the next few months, there are ways to find out if things are in the pipeline. Business trades and stuff you know. 'Burger King, not McD's get's X-Men deal' type public information. 'Target exclusive XMFC deal, not Walmart'. These things generally get heard- sometimes with something big like Star Trek you know way ahead which places they've worked with before and will again. But less than 2 months away and nothing? What the hell?

I remember when Mazda was showing commericals when they had that cool refit RX8 for the first films. There's been no retro car deals? No news of car collectors loaning automobiles to the shoot or stuff like that? Did Rolex make old style watches especially for the film? Where is all this stuff?

I'm telling you, sometimes I think this is like that Sequel to Gore Vidal's Caligula trailer, or the talking M&M's and Santa Claus:

He does Exist!
They do Exist!

That's how I'm going to feel on June 3. :)

I know there was a big hub bub after Hugh Jackman got injured doing a stunt on Oprah of all places a couple months ago (I believe he sliced his hand on the cord or something) while rappelling into her studio. He was still getting into shape for "The Wolverine" at the time.

I don't know if the studio should support them...but I do know if they feel like they can pull off these stunts without being injured then they should be able to do them. Unless it's written into their contact that they can't do them.

A little part of me is dying inside without an announcement of a novelization. I know I'm probably in the minority and keep repeating myself but aside from a "Green Lantern" novelization "X-Men: First Class" is what I was looking most forward to story wise.

It's not just you. I'm very curious to see who's gonna write the novelisations of all four superhero movies this year. I haven't anything about any of them though. If they do some, I'm wondering if they'll assign them to comic writers, like they have for the other movies. Have you read the novelizations of the first three X-Men, or the Spider-Man movies? Are they any good?

I've read the novelization for all of those and they're pretty good. The one for The Last Stand is pretty meh and is pretty much like the film lol. Peter David wrote the novelizations for all three "Spider-Man" films so they're excellent. The third movie novel is even pretty good.

What about The Incredible Hulk, and Iron Man 1 and 2? I've been thinking about reading through all of these. I have all three X-Men and the first 2 Spider-Mans so far.
