Not sure about some of the character choices here. I can understand them not going with the original line up since they are keeping it within the continuity of the other established films (or I'm assuming they are). But it might've been nice to just use the Deadly Genesis lineup. I'm not enthused about the idea of an older Havok. It seems like the kid brother with a chip on his shoulder is a big part of Alex Summer's character. Now that's out the window. I think Gabriel Summers might work better and could be used as a villain for a later story.

Honestly, I love the paragraph in the article that's saying even though fans hated X3, many still bought tickets just so they could join the hate debate online. So it doesn't matter if it's a hit or not, they believe the online crowd to be dumb enough to pay for it just to talk about it, causing them to laugh at us all the way to the bank.

I think it looks very cool indeed.
I sure as hell hope they have someone paying attention. Teaser stuff like this should have been out before Christmas. Marketeers would be reminding folks of other X-Men bits and merchandise.
Now some trailer spots would be nice. Onset little sneak peeks. Poor Vaughn.

I like it, very classy. Way better than the X with the 3 claw slashes.
I agree. Shades of Iron Man 2, after revealing the pics of Whiplash in costume. When Thor and GL having splashy "first reveals", this just seems..... meh. Plus, its "First Class" but no Cyclops, Jean Grey or Iceman? Yet Havoc and White Queen in it somehow?? Absolutely stupid. Setting it in the 60's will alienate a lot of younger viewers as well.
I'm sure FOX exec's were a bit antsy about something without any Wolverine tones to it.

That's why they'll rename the title at the last minute:

The newer pictures are way way better. The costumes don't look so cheesy.

The line up isn't meant to be Charles traditional "first class". The first class in the context of this movie is what sets the events of the rest of the films into motion really. I suspect that if we get a sequel in say 2013 that we could see Cyclops, Jean, etc. The "first class" in this movie represents the first group of mutants that Charles encounters. Remember that this is the movie universe and not the comic book universe. They drew up on characters not story lines. This story line seems to be original just as the first film's plot was.

Note that Beast - 3rd from right, glasses, tie and maroon jumper - is not yet blue and furry. This should keep happy those who complained about him appearing fleetingly in this form in X2.
