Well it's not out till 10th November anyway. Nearly six months after it came out at cinemas.
Which is an annoyingly long wait, when it's usually 4 months nowadays

I approve of the long wait. Makes the cinema release feel more special.

I always thought it made more sense to save the home release of summer blockbusters for the Christmas sales market anyway.

Funny story: I had to find this thread via Google, because TrekBBS' search claims it doesn't exist. Hrm.

Anyway, finally saw this last night. Rated it an A as it fired on all cylinders for me: gave the original cast a vastly more dignified send-off than that "Last Stand" business, the Sentinels were awesome, Pete Dinklage was awesome, positioned the new cast for a whole new set of adventures (which is awesome)... aside from a bit of squinty-squinty needed to buy how the time-travel premise was working, it was all great.

Anyone know if there's going to be a Sainsburys (or other retailer) exclusive bonus disc with the bluray or DVD ?

Not till much nearer the release. Did you consider going in and asking?

They just about know where the cheese is. You may as well ask for the moon on a stick as want info on forthcoming releases.

It's sort of a generic question anyway - I mentiones Sainsbury's because of the Wolverine and Into Darkness releases, but any retailer might have a bonus disc...

Well I work for Sainsburys, have you ever worked in a large supermarket? If I had recieved such a question, I would have told you, we don't actually know about such things till nearer the date. Of course, then help with anything else you needed, even telling you where the cheese is if you asked such a dumbarsed question.

I'm glad you work for them - they're certainly the best of the 'big' supermarkets, by quite a way.

They're hardly entertainment specialists though - I wouldn't expect them to know about forthcoming novels either, although they sell books.

And my comment about knowing where the cheese is was tongue in cheek - I've always found the staff helpful in finding stuff - even the hard to place quinoa...

Not sure if this link really belongs here but since the sexual allegations against Singer were quite prominent when this film was imminent and/or had been released, it might warrant a mention. Just a little update on those various lawsuits - an accusers is now being sued himself for malicious prosecution, while Singer has been dropped as a defendant from another one. Draw your own conclusions.

^ I think we've all hoped all along that both genuine justice gets served, and that Singer in particular didn't do anything illegal and/or immoral enough to warrant him being canned from the X series. If that article is any indicator, it seems most likely Singer will not have any trouble finishing Apocalypse on time.

Which I'm sure Singer is happy about. That, and the whole "not having his life ruined" thing.

^ GAH
What is Fox think it's trying to pull? Double Dips only work for WB and LOTR/The Hobbit series. lol

Is anyone gonna know that they're are two versions of the film out there? I like Anna Paquin and all but it's a big gamble.

I doubt it'll even improve the movie; as the writer pointed out several months ago, when they put the sequence in, it actually lessened the tension, because it seemed to solve the issue of Kitty's injury. I'm sure it'd make a cool short film, a X-Men One-Shot, but I've no need to see it back in the movie proper.

I can't say I'm terribly surprised. Double dips, exclusive extras for Blu-Ray over DVD, vanilla DVD releases, etc. Very obnoxious and very off putting as a consumer.
