X-MEN: Days Of Future Past (Casting, Rumors, Pics till release)

I still think a movie like this works sort of like the Expendables - having all the names on it is a bigger draw than just having the one name.

Or, more topical, it would have been like having Avengers posters that only mention Robert Downey Jr. (or even more specifically, having a poster with Chris Evans or Samuel L. Jackson that says "Robert Downey Jr.).

It'll be interesting to see how X-Men: Days of Future Past fares at the box office.

I think it will be the highest grossing of the franchise. The buzz for this film is enormous.

I agree. I just wonder how "enormous" it will be. Especially since no previous X-Men film has earned past $250 million domestically at the box office.

Which is the budget of this one, so it'd better make a bit more than that.

^^^^
Worldwide is what really matters most. It's not 1995 anymore.
It should strive to match it's budget though, I'd agree to that.

I think the poster with Hugh Jackman's name over the Magnetos might have been a mistake. I saw the same poster over at Coming Soon, and it didn't have any names on it at all.

Now there is another viral marketing website for the film: http://www.25moments.com/

Some minor spoilers there (such as a couple of characters that are mentioned as being dead by the point of the post-apocalyptic future -
Warren Worthington III and Hank McCoy
). It also definitively places The Last Stand in 2006 and indicates that the future events occurring in at least
2018
if not later.

I was just thinking today that it's been nearly 14 years since X-Men came out. Since then, we've had two actors play Superman (3 if you count Tom Welling), Ben Affleck has become the second actor to be cast as Batman since then, we're on the second iteration of Spider-man since 2001, there have been two different takes on the Hulk (and I'm being generous and counting the Norton/Ruffalo incarnation as one), two Punishers, 2 Catwomen, 2 Blades (including the tv show, though the first Blade movie predated X-Men) and the second modern incarnation of the Fantastic Four has gone into production. Yet the core cast of the first X-Men movie are returning to reprise their roles. How cool is that?

Its very, very cool!

I think it will make this film stronger. Days of Future Past has more weight with having the future portrayed with actors with a lot of history with the characters.

Shawn Ashmore probably thinks that's cool. Ice pun! Oh yeah!

Okay, so that clip was awesome. I loved the brooding music, the sense of build-up, the momentum that was created due to the constantly moving camera-work, etc. Plus, it was great seeing a sense of teamwork. I hope we see more of that in the film.

I am so glad Bryan Singer is back. :D

We get a new trailer on Tuesday. I might explode from excitement.

That is beyond cool. That is EPIC!

I don't think it's that cool. I think it's more sad how quickly Hollywood reboots everything, and mainly just how crummy most of those superhero movies were in the first place that they had to rebooted-
ie. Superman Returns, Fantastic Four 1 & 2, Hulk, Spider-Man 3, Catwoman, etc

That opening sequence was spectacular. Everything looks crisp and clean. You get a teeny sense of scope, we see the stakes right away, and those Sentinel drop ships gave me goosebumps. Also I'm so happy Singer is back...because that mean's reunited with John Ottman. The score is going to be awesome.

The final trailer today should be pretty awesome as well. Also I can't get enough of those 25 Moments. All three viral marketing sites for this film have been outstanding.
