Unless its a big hit overseas or huge hit on the home market, the franchise is dead
I haven't seen X-Files 2 yet, but I do hope they wrap things up with Skull and Muld well enough. As another poster noted, the series finale was pretty weak as a proper send off.
Seeing as how low budget the movie is I don't think it'll bomb as badly as people thinks it will.
The budget on it is what 30 or 35 million? It's somewhere in the low 30's IIRC.

if this is the last we see of Mulder and Scully, then I'm fine with it. it was a nice send off, much better than what the series finale gave us.
