wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

I wish they would unify the IC and US titles and then bring in a new title for the lower carders, perhaps a TV title? It would bring back prestige to the IC title and give a new title for the overlooked wrestlers to showcase their skills in matches with meaning.

The IC title would become how it once was from the 1979-1999 period and make the upper mid card much more interesting than it has been in recent years

I had no idea those two bands did the songs!! LOL. More Canadian content in this thread :)

 timothy won't like that. ;)

I still wonder what they have planned for Brodus Clay with these promos...if it is the odd appearance on RAW or Smackdown it would be a waste...like having him as ADR bodyguard before...I am thinking a big push...John Morrison seems on the way out and there are a ton of guys on Smackdown not worth a damn.

I would like to see Mason Ryan get a push. :p I thought they were going somewhere with him recently...wonder where it will go?

I have no problem with canada and I like both songs. some of favorite wrestlers are from canada. watching smackdown right now and I was wondering was it or was john cena was'nt in the battle royal tonight?

and by the way New York is awesome!!

John Morrison keeps being buried for what people assume is the back stage stuff that happened with Melina earlier in the year. He should be a world champion at this point in his career but whatever happened has set him back big time and I guess he's been trying to work his way back into Vince's good book. As for Clay...sorry but I could care less about him lol. I'm not really fond of big boned men like him that are promoted as beasts and then fizzle out.

Speaking of fizzling out...it is somewhat amusing to me that they basically let Nexus dissolve it's self without any kind of fanfare. The CM Punk angle overwhelmed that to the point where I guess they just happened to drop it.

Booker T's commentary continues to be hilarious and bizarre at the same time.

Gail Kim's first interview since she left the WWE. I'd put money on her signing with TNA after she's settled with her new husband Chef Robert Irvine. Gail was used pretty decently by TNA...for the most part. Until she was made a valet during the end of her run. I think she ran with Jarret's crew. Both companies have misused her in my opinion during both her stints. She should be one of the most decorated female superstars of all time...at least she was promoted when she first started as a future hall of famer.

After watching Smackdown this morning I don't know if I like this thing with Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton...just seems kinda meh.

I was really pulling for the Miz to win...even though I knew the results before watching.

They should reform Legacy. That was the best thing for all three and Cody and Ted haven't done much since they dissolved the stable.

I disagree about reforming Legacy...

Whilst Ted Dibiase may be struggling, Cody Rhodes has made the best out of an opportunity and created a unique character that is both over and suitable for the main event. Randy Orton is one of the top stars of the company and he is also the number one babyface on Smackdown - which is a very desirable position to be in now that very few big names remain on the show.

I could easily see Cody Rhodes as World Heavyweight or WWE Champion by this time next year. He's put a lot of effort into developing himself as a singles wrestler and really worked on getting over as a heel. When Cody eventually drops the Intercontinental Championship, it will free up a space that Ted Dibiase could run with. After all, the Intercontinental division traditionally is the bridge between the midcard and the main event and despite the lack of emphasis on the division in recent years, it's still an area where a mid card talent has a very good shot at transitioning to the main event.

Except that Randy was already a main event level superstar when Legacy formed. It was really meant to increase the profiles of Cody and Ted which it accomplished big time. Made them the top heel tag team in the company. I guess I'm just personally disappointed with their progression since, although I will admit that I'm starting to come around on Cody. He's developed a strong heel character as you stated Admiral M but he's gotta lose the faceplate soon! If Ted adopted his father's gimmick as a legacy character as a lot of fans expected he would he would be over in an instant. He's shown flashes over the last couple of years of that but he needs everything. I think he had a gimmick where he didn't want to do that, he wanted to prove he could succeed on his own or something like that.

Yeah the IC Belt has diminished in stature over the years. It used to be the stepping stone to becoming WWF/E Champion just as the United States Title was used in WCW in determining the number one contendership. Those titles used to mean something back in those days. In fact in the e-fed I was part of, our United States Championship was nearly as prestigious as our World Title was since it meant you were automatic number one contender. My character won that title on three occasions and went on to title shots, capturing the World Title once. I wish WWE would do something like that again.

There's been quite the stir on Hogan's twitter account regarding the "retirement" angle lol. His good night tweet dissed marks basically telling them to not get work themselves up about works lol.

Hogan. He needs to go away.

The thing with Cody Rhodes & Orton does more for Rhodes and does nothing for Orton...if it continues past one PPV it could do more harm to Orton...Rhodes isn't there yet...like if it was Christian or Mark Henry. JMHO.

There was also some interesting comments from Hogan supporters that were in my feed saying stuff like Hogan promoted TNA more in one day than A.J. Styles ever did. Sigh. Randy needs to be repackaged again or get involved in an interesting feud...he is beginning to stagnate again and that's not a good thing for him.

I'd like to see Sheamus with the WHT. I'd like to see Dolph lose the UST since they have him tagging with Swagger and Alex Riley get the UST. I think Cody is good with the ICT but he needs to face someone other than Orton...he isn't where he needs to be to be in the WHT picture yet. And Of course I'd like to see Miz with the WWET again. :D

Speaking of Dolph...he tweeted that he's gonna steal the show on Raw and asked the fans if they are gonna do the same only to have Chris Jericho tweet back when have you ever stolen a show before? LOL

They probably will have him come back for something big...I'd like to see him at Wrestlemania. :)

My guess is that we could see him either at Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania. I think one of the problems they might be having is finding something relevant for Chris to do. At this juncture there really isn't anything for him to do. I would love a feud against CM Punk with Chris representing WWE corporate. Maybe bring him in as John L's personal pick or somesuch deal like that.

Ink, Inc - new tag team champions
Matt Morgan - pins Samoa Joe (Crimson's streak remains intact)
Christopher Daniels
Austin Aries
Mr Anderson
Jerry Lynn
Velvet Sky - new knockout's champion
Sting
Bobby Roode - new world champion

Those are my predictions for BFG, as you can probably tell it doesn't particulary interest me. Most of these matches could be shown on Impact Wrestling and that's never a good thing for a PPV. There's something not very "big match" feel about this card and since it's TNA's biggest card of the year, you would think that they would have pulled out all the stops.

The TNA TV Title hasn't been defended for quite a while either. Apparently this title is supposed to be TNA's equivalent to the Intercontinental Championship, but it's never really given off any prestige. It's first incarnation was Booker T's "Legend's Championship" which was nothing more than a storyline belt until TNA made it an active championship and the likes of Mick Foley and Kevin Nash were trading the belt. Eventually it was renamed the "TNA Global Championship" and went back into storyline mode as Eric Young held the belt and refused to defend it on American soil. The title was then renamed to the "TNA Television Championship" and started out as a promising addition to the organisation. However, questionable switches to the likes of Gunner and Abyss, served to do nothing for the belt.

Well I've seen worse efforts by TNA and can honestly say that BFG wasn't actually that bad. The Hogan/Sting match was booked the best way it could be - with lots of outside interference and working the crowd in order to cover up Hogan's lack of mobility. The Hulkster might be well past his prime and physically incapable of wrestling a proper match, but he can still play to the crowd.

Angle/Roode was disappointing and whilst I agree that it makes sense to have Angle continue as champion, I do think that the finish should of been more protecting of Roode. I'm talking about having Roode actually grabbing the ropes (a'la Cena at Summerslam) rather than Angle using them for leverage. The coreography of the match stopped being interesting a third of the way in and the constant reversals and quick kick outs from both men served nothing but to devalue the power of their signature moves (Angle in particular, since one Angle Slam is never enough to put a wrestler away anymore).

The Knockout's match was below average, although the Knockout's did their best to wrestle a competent match with the time and attention (much of the match was centred on Karen Jarrett) alloted to them. I can't disagree with the winner - Velvet Sky, who finally captured the Knockout's Championship.

Austin Aries/Brian Kendrick was a solid X-Division outing that showcased both men's wrestling talents. Aries in particular, has breathed new life into the division and developed a character that the fans can also buy into. Joe/Morgan/Crimson was a mess and judging by the loud boo's after Crimson speared Joe for the win, it would seem that TNA is booking Crimson in the wrong role. An undefeated heel is something that can work, particulary when they annoy the hell out of the fans by bragging about their ability in ring despite the opportunistic methods they've used in order to remain undefeated. In this case, Crimson speared Joe following a knee by Matt Morgan who had hurt himself following the aforementioned knee.

I didn't catch the MA/II match, although it was probably an average outing. I think Hernandez is much more suited to singles competition and the sooner this stable is dissolved, the better his opportunities to break the proverbial glass ceiling and provide the TNA upper mid card/main event scene with a competent wrestler.

The three "hardcore" matches of the evening were resonably good, although they had their standout bad bits. The best of the three was easily Lynn/Van Dam (which Lynn should have won) which showed that both can perform to a high standard no matter what stipulation. The spots at the beginning were very well coreographed and some of the bumps that they took looked brutal. I remember wincing when Lynn hit a Sunset Flip Powerbomb onto the guard rail primed ladder - and the ladder shifted mid move! I actually thought RVD might have knocked his head off the guard rail, but fortunately he didn't and the match continued. Anderson/Ray was a good match and not too spot heavy. Falls Count Anywhere matches aren't the easiest to pull off since they usually involve lots of backstage spots which takes away the momentum when there is no crowd to react to your work. Nonethless it was a good effort and didn't result in a mental juice job.

I was looking forward most to the AJ/Daniels "I-Quit" match and it delivered in the first half where both acted as well as they wrestled as the microphone came into play. It then went downhill when Daniels grabbed the mic and sent a message to AJ's wife telling her that he was going to murder AJ. Not exactly the best of booking ideas and definitely clawing at some boundaries, especially for an international promotion. The finish came when AJ threatened Daniels with a screwdriver and Daniels said "I Quit" and legged it (although he came back to attack Styles on the stage, thus continuing their feud).

All in all, I'd probably give the PPV 5.8/10, it was definitely not TNA's best BFG effort and certainly no where near the quality of it's WWE equivalent - Wrestlemania 27 (which was a pretty half-assed effort anyway). One can only wonder how things will progress from a storyline perspective now that Hogan has turned face...

The worst Smackdown would be better than a TNA PPV.

Glad to hear Sting won. :)
