wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

About half this list is redundant due to how they present themselves in character/on camera.

No one is going to believe that The Miz isn't intelligent. I think Kane is the only one on your list that doesn't present himself as intelligent as he truly is due to the limitations of his character.

I'm sorry I didn't make it clear, I was listing those with academic achievements of note. I was just addressing the irony that a lot of people who aren't as familiar as we are with wrestling, percieve wrestlers as violent brutes, in the ring and outside of it.

WWE officially announced their network plans for today. It will launch next year but without an exact month or date.

So no one watched Raw except timothy tonight? I read a recap and still think they have really dropped the ball now and have become boring again. I suspect that they're attempting to build up this new storyline but it is taking too long and being lame. I think also now that we've got the latest stip from Trips about him resigning if Punk wins my prediction of a possible nWo reunion or some kind of Punk beat down will happen. I think they've booked Punk to lose at Night of Champions to further the story line. Also think Miz/Truth are being set up to become WWE Champions, which is why they put the belts on the weak face team of Air Boom.

Good news though...my second tier cable package is being restored hopefully this week (whenever Shaw sends someone over). My landlord re-upped our package after much nagging from me :)

That was awesome, and I remember that episode! See, this is exactly the kind of footage they should reveal on the network. It would really give a reason for people to subscribe.

Holy Shit!

Wow. Wasn't expecting this. Looks like the "firing" wasn't just for story line purposes. Unless of course it is :)

It's got to be a work surely. We would have known if Kevin Nash had done something that would have got him fired. As far as I know, Nash is under a 5 year "Legends" contract.

For some reason, this is starting to remind me of the questionable booking decisions made by the likes of Eric Bischoff (sure, let's technically, but unofficially fire Brian Pillman as a worked shoot)...

I am sure kevin will show up at night of champions. now to screw triple HHH or to hurt cm punk. If he hurts cm pumk that disqualifies triple HHH and he's no longer COO of the wwe and free's him to compete. I still think john L. is involved in this some how.

^ Of course he is. At least that is what is being implied. I agree with Admiral M that this must be a work. I have noticed that over the last year and a half, especially the last six months that WWE is really pushing the use of social networking media to further and plug their characters and story lines in kayfabe. There are wrestlers...both male and female who are using their facebook and twitter accounts to push and discuss story lines in character with fans. This "firing" of Nash announcement could very well be just another case of it. Using media to reestablish the kayfabe nature of wrestling. It's a smart move if that is the case.

Slam Wrestling has an article containing Nash's tweet about the "release". Interesting he says it was good to get to know Cena.

I don't even know if they'd want to call it the "NWO". There is a lot of evidence to suggest the formation of a super heel stable. I'm going to go with the following being a part of it...

Triple H - Leader
Kevin Nash - Co-Leader
John Laurinaitis - Lackey
Stephanie McMahon - Co-Leader (a'la Linda McMahon as CEO)
Alberto Del Rio (tipped on the WWE.com article) - Wrestler
Ricardo Rodriguez (tipped on the WWE.com article) - Heel Announcer/Lackey
Michael Cole (tipped on the WWE.com article) - Heel Commentator/Lackey
The Miz (tipped on the WWE.com article) - Wrestler

I think the rest of the people listed on the "New NWO" article are unlikely to be part of the stable, at least during the formation. I think that if this goes ahead there would be a decent chance of either John Cena or CM Punk turning heel (more likely Cena).

The problem with calling this stable the NWO is the parallels it would draw to the original NWO, especially if Cena turns heel (Hogan at BATB 96). I'm thinking the name of such a stable would reflect Triple H's position in the company. Perhaps "Helmsley Corp", in order to play off Paul Levesque's kayfabe surname and that within the storyline he is in charge of WWE.

^ I don't know how much that would differ from the McMahon-Helmsley Regime of the Attitude Era in actual practice.

What's the problem calling the stable nWo? I could understand coming up with a brand new name but then why bother giving Kevin Nash the music and teasing us with it? It would make no sense at this point not using the name. Not to mention piss off a nWo mark like myself who actually WANTS to see them again. If this is where the story line is heading then it will piss me off if they don't use the name...it's all about marketing and let's face it those famous letters still can draw.

they may call NWO2 or something like it if the just don't call it NWO. I mean vince does own wcw and all material right?

^ That's my point. There's absolutely no reason for them not to use the nWo name. We already know that pro wrestling can rehash things and not be very creative at times.

My rationale for suggesting against it comes in the form of five words - Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan.

Bischoff was the person who came up with the idea originally, hoping to create a stable like the ones he'd seen in Japanese wrestling. You also cannot explore the history of the nWo without mentioning Hulk Hogan.

We all know that when it comes to TNA, Vince doesn't like mentioning names. Sure we've had some references, but that has usually been done in a negative sense. I just don't think the nWo can be reformed without WWE going over the history. Although if it's good for money (that is people buying the merchandise in vast quantities of a heel stable), Vince might reconsider.

On an unrelated note, I just watched the Jeff Hardy/Sting match from Victory Road again... wow, what a gong show. How is Jeff still employed with TNA/iMPACT?

The fact that they didn't terminate his contract on the spot just boggles my mind.
