wwe vs tnt anyone watching?

I was watching a match from HEAT many years back and it featured Colt Cabana & Eugene...I actually miss Eugene...I read Nick Dinsmore was released from WWE do to drugs.

yeah the wwe does not like drug user's in the company. I all way like stone cold steve austin skull belt the best. out of the wwe titles. I all so wondered why they stoped useing the european title belt. it seems all there interested in is the united states title, intercontinel title and the tag title. it all seems they retired the women champion ship title for the new diva's title.

Vince was looking to streamline the show and stop people from getting confused by the large number of belts that were out there. To many champions on a show or in a promotion makes each title a little less important. Fewer titles also gets rid of the ranking system that multiple titles bring. I actually miss the Hardcore belt myself as well as Hardcore matches. After the two stellar MITB matches I think a limited hardocre division would succeed. It has been years since we saw one and I loved the 24/7 defense of the title itself.

I loved the hardcore matches. I believe when someone wins the intercontinel title they someday become world heavy wieght champoin I never did understand that. I all so like the united states championship. and Why the wwe never got a television title at all. I mean ecw and wcw had one at the same time so what gives there. and now impact wrestling has one and eric is a little crazy with it.

Yeah Nick Dinsmore had a pretty nasty painkiller addiction IIRC. In the UK we have a monthly non-kayfabe magazine called Power Slam and often it picks up interviews with former WWE (or current) employees. In one of them Nick Dinsmore talked about his drug addiction and how it cost him his job with the company.

Its a real shame with Dinsmore, despite being given a crappy gimmick (Eugene) his years of experience and strong work ethic got him over and continues to pay the bills throughout the indie circuit. It would be nice to see him in a national promotion like WWE or TNA again though.

WWE has always been a big figure display thanks to Mattel. I don't actually think there is representation from the company there though. If there is it's probably suits.

I liked when they had the gimmick of anyone could pin the Hardcore Champion to win the title. That was fun and made for some great comedic moments.

The Hardcore Championship was fun throughout 2000/2001 because at least you'd get a serious reign on occasion with it. In 2002 it became ridiculous with Stevie Richards and Raven both holding the belt somewhere in the region of 30 times.

Of course, nowadays there would be no place for the Hardcore Championship. In WWE, Hardcore matches are no longer known by this term (think about it) instead they are referred to as "No Holds Barred" or "Street Fights".

I think the best Hardcore Champion was Steve Blackman. All of his matches as champion were thoroughly entertaining and he really shined in that role.

Yeah they went back to the old school terms after ECW was scrapped again. No point in keeping "hardcore" around in a company that no longer promotes it after all.

The might as well change one of the other titles or come up with a SuperStar title.

[edit] I nominate The Miz to be the first SuperStar champ! :D

I think WWE is extremely close to finding the sweet spot. We all have to accept PG, but if they keep doing reality based storylines with believable characters and angles that don't insult the viewers intelligence then PG won't matter. With recent storylines they've captured the "anything can happen" element of the Attitude Era, the Wrestling of the 2002-2006 era and the clean and intellectual product with balance for all demographics that PG brings. Its in a sense very near the peak, the only thing lacking is more top talents (that WWE really needs to build). I've been really impressed recently, even Cena has improved!

I've been quite surprised and nearly impressed with Cena after the promo he cut at last weeks RAW (bringing reality into it with his subtle references to TNA and his analogy about being compared to Shawn Michaels if he had gone along with Vince's screwjob attempt). Furthermore, Cena's performance at MITB was arguably the best in his career, he wrestled for 33 minutes utilising a variety of unfamiliar moves, selling beautifully for Punk and still coming across as a big threat.

money in the bank was great ppv right up there with wrestlemania probably better than wm. they really have to work on there card. john cena vs cm punk was the best match in the mitb ppv card, next to the smackdown ladder match.

I have a question for everyone. From the 2000-2010 period, who would you place in the top ten? Not on your personal preference (as in who you like) but based on all factors (wrestling ability, promo delivery, popularity, crowd interaction and reaction, marketability, look and success) Heres mine...

1. Kurt Angle (WWE/TNA)
2. Shawn Michaels (WWE)
3. Mistico (CMLL/WWE)
4. Triple H (WWE)
5. John Cena(WWE)
6. Keji Mutoh(NJPW/AJPW)
7. The Undertaker (WWE)
8. Rey Mysterio (WWE)
9. Edge (WWE)
10. Chris Jericho (WWE)

I'll explain why I've left The Rock off the list. Firstly his peak of popularity was between 1999 and 2001. In this period of time there is no denying his popularity, however, The Rock only seemed to work well with 4 people - Steve Austin, Triple H, Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho. That severely limits his overall rating in my mind, coupled with his resonably short WWE full time career (1997-2002) omits him from my top 10. Just for comparison, heres what I would have put from the 1990-2000 period.

1. Hulk Hogan (WWF/WCW)
2. Steve Austin (WCW/ECW/WWF)
3. Ric Flair (NWA/WWF/WCW)
4. Bret Hart (WWF/WCW)
5. Sting (NWA/WCW)
6. Goldberg (WCW)
7. The Great Muta (NJPW/NWA/WCW)
8. Randy Savage (WWF/WCW)
9. Mitsuharu Misawa (AJPW)
10. Masahiro Chono (NWA/WCW/NJPW)

Looks like WWE is at Comic-Con...

Kicking Off
Comic-Con

WWE is at San Diego Comic-Con where Mattel is displaying some of their upcoming WWE action figures. Designers from Mattel and WWE also displayed one-of-a-kind, over-sized Rey Mysterio Rumblers. Check out the photos from preview night of SDCC.
