Writers crossover

Well, there was overlap in staffs. Primarily at the higher level, though. Ron Moore and Brannon Braga wrote for TNG, DS9 and VOY. And I'm guessing there were at least a few others who wrote for the latter two series.

Well, Ron only came onboard Voyager in season six, after Deep Space Nine finished its run. After writing only two episodes, he promptly left.

Braga never wrote for Deep Space Nine, according to Memory Alpha. I believe he jumped straight from The Next Generation to Voyager (perhaps with Generations and First Contact in between).

Yeah, Berman was the only unifying force... and Moore wrote this 5 page thing on why his Voyager stay was short lived and what he thought was wrong with the show.
It seems like the "franchising" was the split in the family.

Well, as someone who saw Part 1 of the crossover, let me say I loved it! I was pleasantly surprised!

I think it would've been cool if back in the day the DS9 and VOY writers wrote a couple of episodes of each others shows.

Joe Menosky is one name which comes to mind.

True, but Menosky was never a staff writer on DS9. And I don't think he ever wrote DS9 while he was an executive producer on VOY.

I was just thinking of someone who wrote for three different series, following on to Ted's remark about overlap. I believe that Menosky's "Time's Orphan" story for DS9 was written after he joined VOY as writer/producer, though.

If you look up any writer on IMDb who's been working for a while, chances are you'll see a variety of credits. I met a writer who worked on Sports Night, NYPD Blue and Journeyman. That's not to say most writers don't stick to either comedy or drama--they do. But there is crossover.

I'm not a fan of Two and a Half Men--Charlie Sheen annoys the hell out of me. I didn't end up checking out the episode, but I am curious to see the CSI half of it.

Just watched the 2.5 Men episode again. The interrogation of Berta was just too damn funny. The CSI writers really nailed her character.

Especially when she sees the dead body and backs out of the room, casually wiping the doorknob with her shirt!

Looking forward to tonight's CSI episode "Two and Half Deaths".

I thought Time's Orphan was a re-written TNG script changed to feature Molly instead of Alexander?

The CSI episode was pretty damn funny. I thought about four or fives lines near the end were a bit much (puns that were bad, not "funny bad"), but I hope the two shows do this exchange thing at least once a season from now on.

An excellent experiment!

And what a major MAJOR slam against Rosanne Barr with "Annabelle". Even the logo/font for the show was the same as Roseanne (who I believe went through over 40 writers during the course of her series).

As a writer I found the writers-are-the-least-valuable-part-of-a-show stuff painfully funny (and all too true).

Loved the momentary drive-by shot of the 2.5 Men cast in the same tuxedoes they wore in their crossover episode. And I believe all THREE had cigars.
