The novelization is perhaps the greatest adaptation of any of the Trek movies. It contains all of the scenes from the script/work-print and also a nice batch of scenes that were created only for the novel. But they fit in very nicely into the narrative without sticking out.
Really wish they would include the work print in a future release so the fans could see what an uncut version of The Script would have looked like. Obviously Cuts had to be made for the theatrical release but seeing the two hour and 10 minute version of the movie would be a fascinating experience for the fans.
