Wouldn't Native Kryptonians Speak English With An Accent?

Can you explain '(or subset thereof)' please?

I think that refers to specific ways of speaking that are found in England, other than the stereotypical BBC announcer speech... Cockney slang, for example. Yes, Kryptonians should sound Cockney.

My Grandmother and her sister were from England, they both married men from the US, soldiers during WW2 and came to the United States together after getting married. They lived not to far from each other for the majority of the time they were alive. My Grandmother didn't have a hint of her English accent, you would have never known. However my Great Aunt sounded like she just stepped off the boat from England.
I think it has a lot to do with the person and their talent for language or how their brain interprets/produces sounds or something. I lived in England for a while and while I was there I knew a couple of guys from Austria. Both had come to England at about the same age and had been there for a year or so. One sounded American and the other had a thick German accent so thick I could barely understand him. The second guy worked very hard to improve his accent to be more understandable but he just couldn't hear, much less make, some of the sounds common in English. Arnold Schwarzenegger is another example. He's been here in the US since he was about 20 (over 40 years now) but he still has a fairly thick accent. In my job at a university I work and interact with quite a few students from China. Some struggle to speak clear enough to be understood and others have no problem picking up the nuances of American English speech patterns. I think it mostly comes down to the person and their language skills.

I suspect accents and singing/musical ear have a relationship. People who can carry a tune are probably more likely to pick up accents than those who struggle with musicality.

^Technically, Arnold Schwarzenegger did loose his accent (on purpose). But then he found out it was central to his charm as an actor, so he worked hard to get it back.

Really? Do you have any examples of him not speaking with an Austrian accent?
