If PARAMOUT produced a live action version of TREK, like the ones the fans do, and they were considered canonical, how much would you be willing to pay per ‘episode’ of such a show?

Mind you, it would not have A actors, and would be made with a shoestring budget on par with the fan made shows. Would you watch? Would you pay? How much per episode?

"Like the ones fans do"? Nope, wouldn't pay anything for unprofessional caliber productions.

But I pay for some other series - particularly outstanding ones. A boxed set of a season of Dexter is about $30. Do something of that caliber, but for Star Trek (meaning, mangled corpses are optional), and I'd pay $30 for a nicely packaged DVD set, no problem.

Even if it were a step down from Dexter (meaning, worth watching but no real replay value), I'd rent the DVDs thru Netflix.

If you're asking people to pay for something they're used to getting for free, you have to make sure the quality is better. You can't go down in quality and ask for more money.

your prices are ridiculous, they could never get away with charging even 10 bucks an episode, if they made the show in the first place, which would not happen. if there is going to be a new trek show, it will be on CBS, they own the rights now.

No one would pay $10 for an episode.

I'd pay $1. But no more.

And that's assuming the writing and effects are good.

I wouldn't pay to watch something produced as cheaply as possible. If it's that cheap, they can cover their expenses in other ways.

A regular show, maybe up to $5.

I'd wouldn't give one red cent - especially if it was as poor as any of the fan fiction I've seen previously.

Since I'm used to trek for free, I wouldn't pay for anything unless it is very good quality. Even then, I'd be looking along the range of $20-30 a season. I wouldn't dare pay anywhere near that high per episode.

I've seen the first season of Dexter being sold on Amazon for as little as $20.00. Well worth the price, IMO.

As far as paying for online Trek? No, I wouldn't. So far, most of the TV series available online have no closed captions, and that really irks me to no end.

If it was ENTERPRISE.

I have "form" for doing so, as the local constabulary might say...

$10 or 20 for a decent movie-length about the Romulan War. That's a tenner with the Queen's face on it. But I'd expect to keep the download and not have it self-destruct after the rental time elapsed.

I wouldn't pay a dime. I would put up with a degree of advertising, but not to the extent that sci-fi does with streaming nuBSG episodes. In the middle of a scene and suddenly there's a DirectTV commercial? Feh!
