Would you leave with Voyager

From the Voyager/37 post I started thinking about the flip side of this of what if you were a resident of the 37's planet and you had the choice of leaving home to fly amongst the stars with the crew of Voyager in a hope to get back to the Mother land, so to speak. Would you take it?

I also ask becuase I remember seeing in a Voyager crew manifest that uses non-canon info that has about two or three people on board that came from the 37's planet and always wondered what there reasons may have been for joining the crew.

So what would you do if you were as 37 descendant and given this choice:

I would go with Voyager to try to get to my home planet again. I would take any job that's available.

And of course I would go with Voyager also, because they have mighty fine first commander **Chaks**

I'd imagine that it would be difficult to leave, for that planet would be my home, with all of my memories, family and friends. Leaving would mean never seeing everything I've ever known again. So unless I come from a broken home or something, I wouldn't leave.

I don't know that I'd have the courage to leave alone. Perhaps if a friend, lover or relative were going with me, I could summon up the moxie. Otherwise, I'd probably stay in my little hobbit hole.

I would stay home. It's my home and if I want to see the galaxy I'd do it in my own backyard. Why go off to some strange place with no chance to see friends or family ever? That's just not for me.

I'm assuming they had not developed space travel or at least warp speed technology, eh? Hell, if Voyager showed up on THIS planet and they asked me "hey, wanna come with?" I'd so be on that ship in a New York Minute. I wish I could see space!!!!!!!!!!!

You bet your ass I would leave with Voyager!!!!! I'd be on that ship like glue to a wall! I would love to see space as well and would love to travel with the Voyager crew on an exciting mission.

You have to figure though that for the '37's, everyone they knew and loved back on earth during their time would have been dead and gone for a few hundred years by the time they got back. What would have been left for them to return to?

The only one I could have seen going with Voyager would have been Amelia, but ho wmuch could they have done with the character before they'd really done all they could? They pretty much did the stranger in a strange land tourine when Seven joined the crew, so ho wdifferent would it have been if one or more of the '37's had come aboard than when Seven did?

I figure this has to do with how happy I am on Voyager. If I am living a good life, I'd stay. But if someone is making my life hell, I'd stay behind. SEVENTY FIVE YEAR journey seems like an insane trip. And lets face facts, life on the run should not have the comforts they had every week

I don't know if I'd be ready at that point in the journey to say goodbye to any chance of ever seeing home and loved ones again. only if I got hopeless enough.

I love those ambient/soothing/white-noise ship background sounds on Voyager...I'd live on that ship 24/7. [if it existed, of course ]
