Would you date a Q?

I like smart, powerful woman, so if I had reason to think she really cared about me, sure.

That's the thing. The Q don't care - about anything, or anyone.

Look at De Lancie's Q. You think he gives a crap? And Lady Q is even worse. Forget about dating - I wouldn't want to be in the same room with creatures like that. You even look at them wrong and they turn you into God knows what.

If I was single, yes.
Like Vash who got to go all over the universe/Galaxy. You could go backward or forward in time.
I'd be all over that. Q could make you never age or make you into a Q yoursrlf.
It would be the ultimate!

If you get the Q power you can at least defend yourself against other omnipotent beings....:D

I'd date a Q to see the universe because it's an amazing opportunity. The relationship would be the ultimate power imbalance but I'd just remember that I was using the Q for my own ends.

Once a Q has noticed you and wants to be in a relationship with you you're going to be harrassed rather badly no matter what your answer. Might as well see some cool stuff along the way.

An advanced non-corporeal being would have as much interest in dating a human as it would an amoeba. That one did in TNG was one of the more idiotic things that show did.

What about Q's son or Amanda Rogers? They are Q but they have a touch of humanity in them having been either raised as human or been influenced by Janeway taking a interest. I would also think Quinn if he hadn't killed himself might actually be a okay person. Maybe he was all ego in his youth but it did seem like he kind of grew out of it. I guess that is what happens when you live how many years it was in that comet.

Death Wish Q cares, he proactively intervened to help humans. And remember, even John De Lancie's Q was in love with Janeway.

Yeah, it's unlikely a Q would give a crap, but if she did. This is a hypothetical here, anything that could happen in fiction is on the table.

What would it be like dating someone that could do absolutely anything?

Where she we eat tonight?
Dunno, quite fancy eating a fresh springbok in the African savanna, as a lion.
Snap...

You also have to bear in mind that Q’s entire interest in humans is speculation they might be future equals.

Q see humans more like infants than amoeba.

Being a Q must be really lonesome and miserable, if you fall in love with a human or another "lesser" species. You could never tell them the truth about you or if you do, you will always have doubts if they really love you or just the things you are able to do for them.

And even if you do and they appear to really love you, you can't even be sure if it is just because of your powers subconsciously influencing them

Well I think the Q could find out if someone truly loved them by simply reading a person's mind. Of course the thing is if people love you for who you are then it means a Q's powers are part of who they are as a being. So maybe if someone loves your powers it's akin to someone loving a dimple your wife has or how your husband smiles. Only more extreme because of just how more unique a Q is compared to your average humanoid. I mean I can't speak from existence because I have never been in love but doesn't love mean you love everything about them after awhile. If they like baseball and you don't you then sort of start to like it because the person you love likes it and so forth and you want to take a interest in the things that make them who they are.

No. You never know when they might turn on you, and leave you to die on an asteroid, or something

A Q might argue the distinction of being single as a fixable problem - they could take you to a point on the timeline before you were with your current partner during your dates to observe linear morality customs.

I'm not endorsing doing this! Date a Q at your own risk, everyone. We've all heard the stories.

I would date a Q, but there would have to be some ground rules. Like "No Robin Hood scenarios".
