I love some of the Tumbleweed houses. My own house is 760 square feet. I could be comfortable in 600 or less if it had enough light and character.

Anyone read the J.G. Ballard short story Billennium? That's what this is starting to sound like.
I have just looked at the video again. Question for those who said the place was too dark - what about if a window was placed in the wall where the kitchen table is? There is also room for other windows elsewhere as well.
I would not really like to live in one of those, but I certainly could. It does have everything inside for quite a comfortable life...water, electricity...uhm..yeah...however, if I had to choose one of these containers I´d pick one with the round windows and I´d redecorate the inside a lot.
This Tumbleweed Houses however looks quite nice. I like light wood n the inside.
And for one person, why not? Less space means less space too keep tidy. *g* Though it should be enough space to move around somewhat, cause when I think or have to learn something I need pacing space.

My answer is IDK. I don't know why I would need to.
It's kind of Science Fictiony, like a modular moonbase or space station. It's bigger than my first apartment, but too small for what I need now. If you could stick two together, it would be better, but it's definitely not a bad place to live.
Maybe I missed it, but did they say what the size actually is?

I could certainly live in a place like that.
If it were dirt cheap (to rent, not own), I'd probably consider it. The biggest problem is storage. I usually have trouble as it is fitting dishes, pots and pans, and food in my kitchen and that one is half the size. It would also work better if I have no friends whatsoever, since you can't fit more than four or five people comfortably in there and that's spread across all rooms. It also strikes me as the world's most depressing place to be if it's raining and you're stuck inside. But, aside from that, it looks quite comfortable, clean, and modern, which is nice.
I could see it as some kind of college dorm-like application, although third world countries seems more logical.

I actually designed something similar to this; wanted a room that was a house all for myself -the parents didn't like the idea though -not even if I would have built it myself
I like how that guy doesn't seem to ever have seen a window that opens
(not to mention the ancient notion to put a drying cupboard above the kitchen sink)

In a second video that looks at the outside he did say it was 40 ft long. I assume it is about 10 fts wide. For those who haven't looked at the PDF he is a photo showing some of the alternatives the open plan two bedroom unit

I wouldn't be elated to live in one, but I could if needed. It is cramped, I've seen flats for rent (usually for students or somesuch) that were way smaller and less equipped.
Also, I must say that American standards for house are crazily large compared to what I see here. A whole house with three bedrooms for a normal family (say, 3 or 4 people) is something that only, if not the rich, at least the well-off can afford. In cities, most people live in flats with just a couple of bedrooms. I live in the suburbs, and my 500 sq. feet flat is considered positively extravagant for one person.

As student accomodation it actually looks quite nice. Have seen far worse student accomodation with less room, old, dirty, ugly.
And it seems as a more bedroom unit, each bedroom has its own little adjoining bathroom. Now thats luxus. I have to share the bathroom.
Though in the more bedroom units, the one bedroom seems to open into the other bedroom. Now thats stupid, would invade the privacy. If my flatmate always had to go through my room to go to her room I´d go mad.
