Would Voyager have benefitted from a Mirror Universe episode?

buckeyenation

Watched Mirror, Mirror and In a Mirror Darkly back to back recently (a sign of having no life, I know) and wondered how, if at all Voyager would have pulled this off. Have fun with this one, gang!

Yes. Tho we almost saw one, in the holo recreation of 600+ years later. And we know of Tuvok's location from the DS9 one.

It could have worked. If it was done in the fashion of "In a Mirror, Darkly," with no crossovers with the regular universe. Just an episode or two, maybe more, focusing on the mirror versions of the Voyager crew and what they were doing in the mirror Alpha Quadrant.

No, no, no. The MU is horribly stupid. The only reason it worked at all with Mirror, Mirror is because TOS had enough goofy/campy bits on a regular basis that it wasn't that big of a deal.

It would, I think a MU episode of Voyager would have been great fun! Thinking about it now, I'm surprised they never did one.

I agree that "Living Witness" along with ""Course Oblivion" were the closest things to an AU episode on Voyager . Although I liked the AU DS9's, I'm glad they "didn't go there" on Voyager.

Would have been badass. Take Janeway, throw in a bit of Honor Harrington and a touch of Angelus, and you have MU Janeway.

Would have been badass.

And MU Seven....mmmmm...sexy...

Considering Future's end, and how braxton' ship the Aeon ushered in the computer revolution of the 1970s because Voyager Bitchslapped it through time, any number of fiddles made by Annorax would have turned earth into some distopic mess like in DS9's future tense though to the camp wonder of Mirror.

Though the mirror universe is just an alternate universe, and there's an infinite number of those as seen in TNG parallels, so really there's stil an infinite number of Mirror universe that brached froth from Mirror Mirror wherein the federation stood tall well intot he 24th century.

other than that: Captain Seska and her pet human Janeway could have had some marvellous missions teaming up with a ship of Terran rebels in the dq trying to make their home.

Yes, if it wasn't anything like the DS9 Mirror Universe episodes. That means, all MU characters should have the same sexual preference as their real versions. It would also be a good idea if it took place entirely in the MU (but that's not necessary).

We already got the closest thing in "Living Witness", the only thing missing was Tom Paris being Janeway's "Captain's Boy" (thanks to the events of "Threshold").

"Living Witness" was great, but yes, some MU episodes would have been neat. See another side of the characters, some action, how other choices could play out in the Delta Quadrant.

Mirror Universes are not simply alternate universes - there's some sort of connection between universes, as shown by the existence of the same people despite such dramatically different histories, and by the fact that people frequently cross between the universes.

I would have loved to see the Mirror Universe Borg as the peace loving, non-assimilating Delta Quadrant Federation they surely are.

It seems like only the humans are the ones "Inverted" in the MU. The Borg may be even worse in the MU.

No.

The "mirror universe" idea has been over-used already as it was. Besides that, we did have a mirror universe character showing up in "Fury".

With the exception of the original Mirror Mirror, mirror universe episodes were just an excuse not to write a real episode about the real characters. One depth Voyager never sank to-- a point in its favor....

Living Witness was as close as we got to seeing evil versions of the Voyager crew, and it was fantastic. I liked the mirror versions, probably more than the real ones!

And yeah, we did see Mirror Tuvok in one of the DS9 MU episodes.

I would have loved it an I would have liked to have seen the following differences.

1. The Maquee would be control of Voyager and it would be Maquee rules.
2. I like the evil Androis Dr. from the 600 year holo episode.
3. If it took place later on post season 4 I would have had Kess be a bi part of the show.
4. And most importantly Janeway would have a beard!
