Would anyone watch a Torchwood prequel?

We know that Torchwood has been around since the Victorian era. We also know that there had been Torchwood incarnations up until the hub was finally destroyed. We also know that at least one version of Torchwood vanished mysteriously. Anyone else think that this would make for an interesting series?

One with the two Victorian ladies could be good. Steam punkish and you could have Jack and the Silurian pop up from time to time.

I'd gladly watch a Torchwood 1970 -- Jack and Canton Everett Delaware III. :)

I also liked the World War I era Torchwood.

If you've read Mark Gatiss' Lucifer Box novels, he'd be perfect for a Victorian/Edwardian-era Torchwood.

We'd probably find out that Torchwood 4 was sacrificed by Jack for some greater good, cause he does stuff like that.

I wouldn't mind seeing Torchwood cleaning up after UNIT during the Third Doctor and the Masters... Actually how was Jack so clueless about the Master after spending a century waiting for him to show up in Cardiff?

The Dinosaur Invasion, taking the Ambassadors of Death back to Mars, all out war with the Autons... Stuff.

If it was as boring as Miracle Day, No. I rather see Captain Jack the Early years when he was a time cop.

Dunno about that... Torchwood was pretty anti-alien in its heyday. Vastra as an occasional consultant, perhaps, if you could convince the people who wrote teh Torchwood charter NOT to dissect her...

But the Silurians aren't aliens -- they're from Earth, aren't they?

Yeah, I would go for that. We've had some details scattered about, but some kind of special to tie them all together into a coherent story would be nice. Kind of like "In the Beginning" did for Babylon 5.

As long as a prequel doesn't pollute DW itself all well and good -- I might watch if the quality were high enough. I've always regarded Torchwood as little more than RTD's fanwank. There are the occasional flashes of greatness amongst the dross, but mostly I feel like I wouldn't really care had it never existed.

If Big Finish can get hold of the rights one day, it might be something they'd do.

In the meantime Jago And Litefoot are holding the fort brilliantly.

To be honest, meh. The Torchwood novel Consequences has a short story set in Victorian times and while it is an excellent story, it has satisfied my desire to see what Jack and Torchwood were like back then. If we were to have a series set in Victorian times, Madame Vastra and Jenny would be the way to go.
