Spoilers Would anyone be opposed to Odo showing in Picard

With out Rene it would be difficult to watch but I’d be happy to see Odo. He’s my favorite DS9 character. I don’t see it happening. I didn’t read the spoilers. My wife and I probably won’t get to watching season 3 until after they air the whole thing.

I think that it is possible that the Changeling in episode 03x04 No Win Scenario could have been Odo gone rogue for some reason? I know that this is out of character but this Changeling did have a bucket very similar to Odo. I hope that this was *not* the case though, I really loved Odo and it would not have been the best of character exits for our beloved hero. In episode 03x05 none of the other many Changelings appear to have buckets. Terry Matalas has told us that these buckets are actually called Boungelliki buckets, btw.
:weep:
I *hope* that we see Odo again, one day.

If Odo isn’t integral to the story, it would only be fanwank. I’d rather not see him if that were the case.

Agreed. I want it to be for the story. So far, he's name dropped only to give Worf insight into the goings-on with the changelings. I'd like to think that if Odo was intergral to the story, he would have shown up by now.

Actually, Worf didn’t mention him by name (did he?) but we all knew who he was talking about. And that’s good enough for me.

Absolutely not possible. Nothing about the way they've handled this season suggests that there would be any interest in that kind of character assassination.

omg - I didn't know he had a son who was an actor and looks so much like him! 100% he should be given the opportunity to step into his father's character.

I just reading this now. This is true? I didn’t know. I would very much like to see something about Odo, and DS9, but that’s a subject, I think, for another thread.

Odo needs a foil. His relationships with Quark and, to a lesser degree, Garak, had a life of their own and were essential elements in the character building that made DS9 so great and so unique in the Star Trek canon. Who would that be among the existing characters in Picard or any other current Trek show? You can't just take any DS9 character and move them to another show and expect it to work well.
