Would a Gay Story Make more Money?

Would a gay storyline or gay characters insertion in the film have improved it's box office appeal even more?

Especially a controversial gay storyline or gay plot.

For instance gay characters could kiss on the bridge while Kirk orders a emergency evacuation or in the early years Kirk may may have thought he was gay but was straightened out after an encounter with an Orion..

This gay Kirk could have plunged the film into controvsey generating more bum on seats and appealed to the gay community.

The gross could have been even bigger than.

For fuck's sake, finally Star Trek gets away from moralising it's viewers and you want to force it in again?

As far as I'm concerned, bring on the gay characters in Star Trek, I would even like that, but please don't make a storyline out of it unless it really makes sense (and a gay Kirk would not, that would just be a stunt).
