I never even thought of Revolution 9 - that is a fucking awful song.

But The Simpsons got a great joke out of it, so I'll, ahem, let it be.

Oh, it gets a lot worse than "Surfin' Bird". That one still makes it under the "so dumb, it's kind of fun" exemption.

Okay, I'll admit it too; some of the songs mentioned in this thread I actually like too -- I'm just not saying which ones.

I wouldn't even consider "Revolution 9" a "song"...more like a classical-style piece composed of various sound sources. Technically, a song has to be sung.

I think musique concrète is the term you're looking for here, and yeah, not really a song.

Also, I've always detested "Goin' Up the Country" by Canned Heat, but that's probably more the vocal than the song itself.

That's not fair to Kermit. He sings from the closed throat. The lead in Canned Heat sang a horrible falsetto!
