Worst season of Star Trek ever.

Worst Season in all of Trek

I always thought the death of Star Trek came from Trekkies and Trekkies 2. Those movies and all the coverage made it "not cool" to watch Star Trek or be a fan.

TNG Season 1. It had some good episodes such as 11001001 and Arsenal of Freedom, but for the most part it was a dreadful attempt at imitating TOS.

I went with TNG season one because the endings of each episode were so abrupt. After watching it I imagined someone on the set shouting "2 minutes left. End it now. Hurry. Hurry!"

Ditto..that was the worst season by far. And it showed why GR had step down. His concept of TV was out-dated.

Imitating TOS? TNG was nothing like TOS. If anything it was the anti-TOS. Klingons were now allies, bald captain who was strictly prime-directive and all diplomatic,a woman doctor,a blind navigator who became the chief engineer, shows that were all about going from planet to planet and teaching their brand of morality.... I just don't see the comparison. It's two totally different shows.

I just started watching TNG again from the beginning, from Encounter at Far Point. (Geeeez, Gene Roddenbery at his sappiest). And, I don't think it has aged very well. I haven't watched this for YEARS. The characters are pretty good. Picard is great, Tasha Yar is fantastic (and I am a straight woman, but if I weren't...... yeah) but I have to say that Troi is even more irritating than I remembered. And Wesley.... well.....
But the next two episodes were such blatant TOS rehashes. Good Lord.

So I may have to revise my vote.... maybe things will improve. I know I remember some kick ass stuff. Maybe it was a different season.

Oh, and edited to add: if the saucer section separates, and the nacelles are in the other section, what is the saucer section's propulsion?????

Another easy one, TOS's season 3. While there were some medicore seasons in some of the following Trek series, nothing can quite match the general awfulness and camp of season 3 of 1968 era Trek. Voyager Season 2 would be the most likely Runner up.

Voyager Season 6, such poor use of characters and it added nothing at all to the series, nothing happened that year. It was either all Seven or the doc all the time or it was a lame story for a real character.

tng s1 definatly gets my vote like others have said it's almost unwatchable, well in my eyes anyways. mind you enterprise season 3 kinda made my eyes glaze over in boredom too

TNG season 2. Anything that spawned "The Outrageous Okona" needs to be shot.

...but that same season spawned "Q Who?" "Elementary, Dear Data", "A Matter of Honor", and "Measure of a Man"!

---------
"Data is a toaster. Have him report to Commander Maddox immediately for experimental refit."

I had to go with ENT-S2, because while there were some episodes I really enjoyed (and re-watch quite willingly!), there was a stream of utter mind-numbing boredom that made me stop watching the series altogether. Luckily a scifi channel marathon caught me again during S3! :)

Yes, and that was the problem.

Episodes like "Angel One", "Code of Honor", and "Naked Now" kept trying to do TOS-style stories with TNG, with terrible results. TNG became good when the writers started getting a grasp on TNG's own strengths.

I was between TOS-3 and TNG-1, but ended up picking the former. There are good episodes in that season, no doubt, but I hardly ever watch it, so that's basically why.
