Worst season of Star Trek ever.

Worst Season in all of Trek

Whichever season of DS9 that featured the most romance episodes is the worst season of Trek. And I gotta say, even that season was pretty good. Still the worst, though.

Had to go with Enterprise season 2 - recylced, boring and insipid

on the other hand, I think the fourth season was one of the strongest of all the series. Too bad the second season ruined the series chances of going the full 7 years (IMO)
A pretty accurate view, I believe.

I absolutely agree with this too, but I went with TOS season 3 because for me it was the worst disappointment.
VOY the series is a contender. I just thought the premise was weak. And DS9 was good in spite of the fact that the premise of "staying in one place" sort of went against what trek was about: in my opinion only.

I think a lot of people are just looking at TOS as nostalgic and not comparing it side by side. Even the worst season of enterprise, voyager or the next generation had some redeemable qualities about them that make their worst season at least watchable.

Having rewatched TNG S1 during January I've concluded that its status as the worst season is inaccurate. There are some ridiculously bad moments (all my wife has to do to get me to laugh is say "PAAAIN") but overall it holds together well.

By the later years Trek had become a fairly slick TV production... so I had to go back to the 60s and put down TOS S3 as the worst. FWIW I don't think there are any bad seasons of Trek though - just some really poor episodes. In every season.

Any season of DS9...just kidding, really! It's funny, but I can vote for worst episodes, but I love Trek too much to vote for a "worst season." I don't even like DS9, but I won't say any season of it is the worst of Trek. I might have voted for a least favorite season--and for that there'd by an 8 or 9 way tie, so no vote for me!

I don't really consider it fair to say Enterprise Season 2 killed Star Trek. I'd settle for that year over Voyager anyday. In 1995, UPN/Paramount had so much invested in the show, it's future was secure... If you had Q like powers to switch the series around in time, Voyager would've been seen desperately trying to boost ratings... while Enterprise stayed the course, bolstered as a companion show to DS9.

I can't even remember much of Voyager's 1st Season, so that gets my vote. They came under the usual episode count that year, even after padding it out! Plus they passed it's best episode The '37s over to start the next season.

Thank God that you came and set up everything straight!

Because TNG's first season really isn't TNG's weakest, because ENT's first two year really aren't that bad, and TOS's third season is amazingly horrible, that we all cling to because of our fondness for some really bad episodes (like "The Enterprise Incident", for instance)..

Thank you ktanner for reminding us how moronic we are!

Enterprise Season 2! The season that hemorrhaged an audience and caused the slow death of Star Trek.

It was pretty bad with some very boring and uninteresting episodes. But I think the slow death of star trek started when they had shows overlapping with each other while still making movies. Just too much overkill.

I'm suprised by votes for TOS seasons 1 and 2.Those had some of the best episodes in all of science fiction and were heads and shoulders above anything voyager did. To each his own I guess.
