Worst looking ship?

The Enterprise J is a bit ugly.

I really liked the Daedalus class, shame we newer actually saw one on screen (Maybe on of the remastered TOS episodes will sneak one in)

The Ent-J is a LOT ugly. Unfortunately, I'd say the same for most designs from the post-TMP eras (which includes the ST: Enterprise era, imo). The Galaxy, Defiant, Steamrunner, Nebula, Stargazer...the list goes on and on. The TNG aesthetic simply doesn't work for me.

I do like the Ambassador class, though.

It definitely doesn't look like a Federation ship. Whether that's a good or a bad thing is open to debate, but it can't be argued that without nacelles it looks different than 95% of the UFP's fleet.

The Defiant does have warp nacelles, they're just covered by armour. You'll note the presence of bussard collectors is a clear give-away that there are nacelles.

Re: 1701-D..gag me

What was the name/class of that one ship in DS9 that used parts of an F-15 model airplane? That thing was... *oy*.

Creative, yes, but definitely fugly!

Cheers,

Re: 1701-D..gag me

If the New Orleans had a smaller engineering hull, I think it would look fairly sleek. As it is, though, I like the ship from a top-down view.

Re: 1701-D..gag me

If we're talking about Starfleet vessels, then the worst looking one for me is the Norway Class. Absolutely hideous.

For alien vessels, it has to be the Breen ships seen in the later seasons of DS9. I hate assymetrical starship designs.

Good thing that the "real" Ent-J will probably not look like that, then. ;)

(the J came from an alternative timeline which will now never happen. And did you see that it looked basically like an uprated NX-01? Suggesting that technology progressed a lot slower in that timeline)

Agreed with regard to the Breen and asymetrical ship designs in general. I'm also not a fan of the TNG Klingon ships. To me, Klink ships are sleek, fast and manuverable. TNG Klink ships just don't convey that feeling to me.

I do, however, like the TNG Romulan designs.

Re: 1701-D..gag me

It's an insult to the people of Norway to name class of hideous looking ships after their country...

it was an F-14 model and it was the 'Yeager' i think, the hideous bastard offspring of the Maquis raider, Voyager and a Tomcat.

I'm not a big fan of the Galaxy class ship at all.
I agree. The saucer section is huge and looks out of proportion w/the rest of the ship. It looks like some of the locals waddling out out of WalMart, w/the potbelly, fat ass and pencil legs.

I agree it looks like a spliff, maybe Decker didn't get killed he's probably in a world where he's enjoying a bit of weed....

Comfort yourself with this, then: The Norway class only appeared in ST:FC because after that, the CGI 'model' of the ship was lost due to a computer glitch, and so it could never be used again.
