Worst Episode of Trek Overall

Every one of these episode is horrible for many, many reasons. I had to go with Code of Honor, because even the cast thought is was racist and wanted it removed from the syndication line up. It really is dreadful and I'm shocked that Gene didn't scrap the whole episode when he fired the director. It would have been better to lose the money on the production than to give the fans this steaming pile of crap.

Is there any good reason why you have to throw this absolutely superfluous jab at DS9 in here? It just makes you look stupid, since I guess even most of the DS9 haters would agree that at least a few of DS9's episodes where better than the worst of the other series' episodes.

OT: I'm having some major difficulties choosing one of these episodes... They all suck so hard it's almost impossible to wade through the suckiness and choose the most sucky of the lot. Think I'll sleep on it.

My post was OT: It is my opinion of the poll. I don't go into the DS9 section, because A) I hate the ENTIRE series for reasons posted elsewhere on this board, and B) It would not be proper for me to go into your house to insult your taste in decorating. Ok then. DS9 bashing is so 1990's. If you've moved beyond that decade you'd know it's become the new fan favorite because, you know, it's the only one that had a plot. It's the Harry Truman of sci fi shows. History proved it right.

Threshold was the worst episode of any show I've ever seen. It was so insulting and stupid I gave up on Voyager.

From this list, "And the Children Shall Lead". It's a useless, stupid episode with no redeeming features of any kind whatsoever. (Personally, I consider "Life Support" to be the worst ep in all Trek, but that's beside the point.)

I voted for TATV. It may have been better than some of the other episodes of this list, but what makes it especially bad is that it was the final episode of a series (and at the moment, of all televised Star Trek!), and it was the most disrespectful piece of junk I've ever seen. It has "FAIL" written all over it. It's a pointless holodeck adventure that trivialized the whole of ENT, and the essence of "Pegasus". And Trip's death was the final slap in the face of ENT viewers.

While I can see the story's sci-fi intention behind each of the other episodes, no matter how poorly executed, TATV's intention by its writers was to make a slap-dash finale using the piss-poor excuse that "we know what fans want so well give them this" resultling in the worst insult ever given to Trek fans. I can't wait for the new movie because TATV has still left a bad taste in my mouth.

So is the TNG choice the only one from an early season? Are all the others from the last or second to last season or so? That's interesting.

Magicks of Megas-Tu was from the first season of TAS, but considering it only had two short seasons, "early" and "late" have little meaning. LHWIWS and The Fight are both 5th season entries, so I tend to think of them mid-run, but you're right that TNG is the only one with a true early-run entry.

Given how most people seem to think the spin-offs were better in the later seasons, that is very interesting. I hadn't noticed before now.

For those wondering about Shades of Gray, it finished 2 votes behind Code of Honor in the final TNG poll, so it just missed this list.

Code of Honor. All it's missing is the "natives" popping their eyes out and saying "Feets don't fail me now!" The other choices are no gems.

The only thing I liked about TATV was seeing Riker and Troi (although they should have been on Titan), which brought the modern Trek era full circle. The ending montage with all the ENT captains reciting "Space...." was nice, too. However, if I never see it again, that's ok. There is too much to criticize so I'll stop right here.

I actually liked LHWIWS. Worf is annoying, true, but where's the news there? He's always annoying.

Why is Threshold not on this list? It's easily the worst Trek episode ever. And I hate to say it, but if TATV wins this poll, then all of this has been a huge waste of time. The poll is worst episode, not most disappointing episode. TATV is an average Trek episode on a good day, but it is not nearly as inept as the other episodes on that list. Not that there aren't truly bad ENT episodes, but TATV isn't of the same category.

Anyway, most of those episodes are pretty unwatchable, but I went with The Fight, because Threshold was unavailable.
