I think Gul Dukat jumped the shark the moment he seemed to have romantic feelings toward Kira.
Agreed. Throughout the entire season, I was hoping that Dr. Pulaski would find her ass tossed out an airlock.

Another embarrassing confession, I'm afraid: I don't really like that episode that much. Granted it was better than what Voyager did with the Maquis, but I much preferred TNG Pre-emptive Strike and DS9 For the Cause and For the Uniform.

Yeah..I agree..though I did so LOVE his over-the-dop performance in Waltz...he chews scenery in that episode with the best of them...Shatneresque I dare say!!!

That he was only good till halfway through season 2, while he was still just an antagonist mostly talking over comm link or appearing for a scene per episode, and we barely knew anything about him except that he was a jerk? Yeah, right, god forbid anyone besides the main cast gets to have some complexity, one-dimensional villains rock... NOT.

I never really cared for the stuff with him being blind, pretending to be Bajoran, because it made the Bajorans look stupid. And the episode where he was leading some kind of religous cult was stupid too...the actor was never ever bad, but some of the writing let him down.

- which happened at least in season 3 ("Civil Defense") but there was already a hint in season 2 "The Maquis". So, that would mean that he "jumped the shark" halfway through season 2 - which is really the moment when he was just starting to become really interesting and complex. The Maquis is in my top 10 DS9 episodes. And it is definitely one of Dukat's best. He is awesome in it and totally steals the show.Not even in The Maquis?!

To me, once was TOO MUCH.
I hated "Mudd's Women" - awful episode. "I, Mudd" was a bit better, but not because of him, but because of the amazingness of having 10 or 15 minutes of pure dadaism on mainstream TV.

I didnt care for THE MAQUIS because it just came off very cheap to me and I didn't care for some of the performances. But DUKAT was good in it...
