World Series baby!!!

Go Rays!

I visited Tampa this year, and loved the city and people.

I realize the Rays play in St. Pete, but it is the Bay Area nonetheless.

I'd love to see this young team win it all.

10 years of misery, and finally some ML baseball for Tampa / St. Pete to be proud of.

Once more, Tampa Bay has turned Zeroes into Heroes. ;)

This town has a way of doing that. :)

Maybe this'll give the Rays the extra boost they need to get a new park.

A new park ... Maybe.

The waterfront park they want? Probably not.

Woohoo!!! Oh I was so happy for them :). I really hope they win it. It would cap off a great season.

I went to a Rays game in September (the night before the won the East) and it was a great experience. I hope they get it done since I've been pulling for them since the All-Star break. They've done a good job proving everyone wrong thus far.

Nice to see another Rays fan here! :D

But yeah...

HELLOOOO WORLD!!!! :rommie: ....Please have a cloth nearby to wipe that saliva dripping down from your gapping mouths.

Heh, I don't know the status of that since the "Let's build a ballpark" and the opposing signs are, at least for now, replaced by election ones.

^ Oh yes, the ballpark issue was as big as the amendments they put on the election ballot.

Well, like I said, maybe the city/county governments will be more amenable to a new ballpark if the Rays win. Or maybe they already are, simply because they're in the series at all. I do know the Rays have abandoned, for the moment, trying to get the issue on the ballot, and are working with a broad spectrum of community leaders...

Correct me if I'm wrong, though, in that the problem is not the *existence* of the park, but rather the financing of it? I know that's a popular controversy with new ballparks.

Congrats to the Rays. I actually got tickets from the first game the Rays played as a souvenir. Still, as a Phillies fan, I can't root for the Rays. They're still a recent team with a long history ahead of them, so they can make it some other year. I do wish they had a larget attendance the last couple of years, since right now their fan base draws criticism as front-runners.

Well done Tampa Bay!:techman:

I watched the game 7 on the edge of my seat, you were just waiting for the Red Sox to steal it at the death, but was delighted when the Rays closed it out.

Looking forward to the World Series, as we actually get all 7 games live over here!:) Not sure who to support, I usually go for the NL team and Phillies are an easy team to like, but I'd love to see the Rays win it all after being the worst team in the Major League last year.

I'm on the Rays fairy tale dream season bandwagon myself. I really hope they win. Plus, Philly is the Mets biggest rival right now so I won't shed too many tears if they lose.

I too would love a 6 or 7 game thriller. The WS in recent years has been so anticlimactic.

I keep hearing that Fox is worried this will be the lowest rated WS of all time. Considering how Rays crazy since September, I think they're overreacting. Even so, it's enough to make me want to watch all of it, even if the series goes a full 7. Heck, I'm hoping for oen of the most exciting of all-time, just to tweak the noses of the folks who don't care, now that the big market teams are out of it. That doesn't include the Red Sox fans, for example, who aren't as interested, because that's only natural.

Problem is Game 3 is the same time as Ohio State-Penn State! Why do they torture me like this???

I also have a class tonight that ends at 9:30 and is a 20 minute walk away. Last time he let us out early, but even if he does that I still miss the first eighty minutes.

You better sort out your priorities, woman!!

I'll try to watch this series a lot. Tonight I probably will miss it (Catch the rest of it on Radio) because I have class but I consider this a very intreguing world series. If Fox is so worried about ratings, they better hope this series goes long, and I think it will.

Since neither the Red Sox nor Yankees are in the World Series, does that mean they'll buy up every single free agent out there over the offseason?

Or maybe just the Yankees will and the Red Sox will cry how that's financially unfair.
