World Cup 2010 - South Africa Thread

And that's why I love this game. Anything can happen. Literally. Anything.

Well, if a handball wins this game, I'm going to have an aneurysm. :guffaw:
You must've loved the 1986 Maradonna goal in the quarter final match against England :guffaw:

*brain explodes*

Thank god Canada will never, ever make it to the world cup. I don't think I'd be able to handle this game if I was actually invested in a team.

Roque Santa Cruz coming in gives me the opportunity to post this:

And David Villa puts another one through!

That was a crazy goal, too. One shot just misses, Villa gets the rebound, and the ball bounces all over the place before finally going in.

Yeah, crazy series of rebounds. Man, that hurts if you're Paraguay.

Ah, well. I'll have to find another team to support now. Holland, I guess. :sigh:

That was a very dramatic game for it's low score, especially since I was really invested in one of the teams.

With the way Spain played though, they don't have a chance against Germany. However, if Germany can beat England, Argentina, Spain and Holland on their way to the title, they deserve it.

Europe 3 South America 0

Take that overreaction-ist commentators. Europe rules, okay?

That game was crap really. We should be grateful for that stubborn goal for giving us the entertainment :D

Yeah, I'm thinking it'll be a Germany/Netherlands final. Of those two I'd like to see the Dutch take the trophy, but Germany are looking very strong. I'd be fine with either team winning.

I wouldn't write them off just yet. Playing against Paraguay isn't the same as playing against Germany. They'll probably have more room to develop their game. Plus, Thomas Müller can't play in the semi while Spain can use all their players.

That's the one downer for the Germans as far as today's match is concerned. Müller's been awesome, the pass he made while lying flat on the ground today was pretty damn sweet.

That was a bit of a weak yellow card for that matter (like an incidental handball or something of that nature wasn't it?).
