Work Force: Where were Icheb & Naomi?

As I continue through my rewatching of Voyager -- already on season 7 after starting a month ago!

Anyway, watching the Work Force episode. Which is an excellent 2 parter IMO.

Anyway, I am curious where Icheb & Naomi Wildman were. Was it explained or did I miss something?

They were added as members of The Shuttle and Torpedo Building Team and were busy with building new shuttles and torpedoes.

Naomi had a paper route.

Icheb was a golf pro.

I read a really nice little fanfiction about this where Naomi was sent to live with a family that she thought was her own. She went to school and had friends, having a normal life like a normal kid. Like Janeway she was a little sad to leave it but when her memories returned she was glad to be back home on Voyager. I can't remember the name of it...but I decided that was as plausible an explanation as any.

They should have made Icheb Seven's assistant.

I haven't watched season 7, except for "Endgame" so I didn't know that, therefore my suggestions for Naomi and Iched were wrong.

So I think that Guy Gardener is right here, except for Icheb. He probably worked in a noodle factory.

I was watching this on Amazon Prime the other day. And I wondered if the Quarren people arranged for Seven to be able to regenerate while she was on their planet being the plant's efficiency monitor.

The bar owner already had her way with Icheb, leaving him a broken shell of a young man. He quit, scraping out a meager existence, until beamed back to Voyager. Fortunately, his leaving the bar left the vacancy available for Paris.

Or maybe he was in there doing research for a report on the transcommunication abilities of Species 1475 prior to their Thirteenth Dynasty, before Seven got back and kicked his ass for being a slacker.

Naomi was a wealthy child's companion (think Shirley Temples Heidi) and Icheb was his alter ego Manu Intarayami (however you spell his last name, as Picardo said)
