Worf and Jadzia's marriage after the series.

Actually, come to think of it, the incident with Lenara Kahn (Khan?) makes a stronger case for Dax's loyalty to somebody she truly cares about.
Emphasis mine.

Does she truly care about Worf?

Perhaps one is more manly by how he looks and how much he growls and scowls, not by his intelligence and maturity.
That balance between the two of them is why opposites attract.

I'm not questioning Jadzia's loyalty to those she loves and cares about. In fact I think Worf's integrity is more at question in that regard, with sending Alexander to his parents the second or third time, when they'd already said they were too old to handle him, and all that BS about keeping the boy with him.

That's more the fault of inconsistant writing than Worf's character traits.
Considering how honor bound Worf is and how he dealt with his own absent father issues, I never saw Worf as the type to keep abandoning his own son. I'd think Worf would be more driven to have his son by his side and too teach him all that Worf never had.

Funny enough, I prefered Jadzia with Bashir, but I liked Ezri better with Worf. I think Ezri being less enamored with Klingon culture made her more realistic about Klingons in general and in specific, Worf's flaws, so their relationship seemed more balanced. Also, I just think the chemistry was better that way for both pairings.

I guess it's hard for a joined Trill to take a lot of stuff as seriously as they would have the first time around.

True enough.

Whoa--Julian Bashir certainly was a man to stand up and follow his beliefs, right or wrong--and stand by his decisions.

Yes but by the time Worf came aboard onto DS9, seemed to me, most of the time Julian acted like a sheltered kid, being finally allowed to play outside with the neighborhood kids. It was not till mid-to-late season that Julian loses this innocent child attitude of his as his bond with O'Brien starts to mature and he gets accustomed to Section 31 and the Dominion War being the opposite of what he grew up believing space was like.

True nuff. Worf's far too much of a traditionalist. Course, Dax also carried a romance over into another life... ;)

Yes BUT I also think Jadzia was always playing with Worf's boundaries and could easily have provoked him into either ending the marriage for some ridiculous honor reason or, more likely, withdrawing from her and thereby giving her an eventual reason for leaving.

If she was just playing, I doubt that Ezri would have done so much hand-wringing over the situation. Even as a new and different host, she would have been privy to both Jadzia's and Dax's thoughts and feelings, and she seemed terribly concerned and conscientious over Worf.

Honestly, I think I prefer it that way. Sure, it puts Worf in a bad light, but it makes him more complex as well. And I think - getting away from Worf and Jadzia for a moment - that was one of the missed opportunities of the short-lived Worf-Troi romance. She and Alexander really bonded, and it would have been a good opportunity for Worf to face his own shortcomings with her help.

Yeah, I wouldn't call it playing either, more of pushing him and trying to help him grow.
