Wonder Woman's new look: At long last, pants!

I must reiterate: Thank god Raimi has faith in his source material and had Spiderman look like Spiderman.

Yeah lets just over look the whole droping the whole making smartass remarks while kicking the bad guys asses and redesigning Osborn's suit because the costume is so damned important

Those are the worst factors of the movies. Though he did have the smart ass remarks in the first one.

^ yes, god forbid superheroes should look like, I dunno, superheroes or something. Let's put everyone in black leather.
After all, the muddy colors worked so well in Superman Returns.

Bingo. The stuff that's even half interesting about the character to me (and that ain't saying a lot) is her connection to Greek mythology. I'd play that bit up; there's no need for superheroes to continue to dress as if bright colours were a necessity and complicated garments aren't worth the trouble of depicting.

After all, the muddy colors worked so well in Superman Returns.
... that's just a slightly darker version of the same suit. Wouldn't wash for me with Wonder Woman, clearly.

If the costume was to honour the country she was in, they surely she would have flag theme togs for every country of the world depending on where she was planing on "visiting" on any particular day.

But what colours would she wear on trip to the Soccer world cup right now?

few.

Wonder Woman taught power girl how to look after her cat.

THAT is only an interesting story if it's that skeevy cat from the JLI with the microcamera surgically implanted into it's eyeball by villains... But no, there's nothing skeevy in Wonder Woman ever. It's a new happy cat. *(&^ that.

Was that girlpower cavalcade in the beginning some conclusion to a huge story going on before hand? because the gushing was freakishly insipid. every one loves wonder woman, ever one idolizes her, I get it, but this girl on girl fan joy was grossly and intensely blunt.

As far as JMS's story was concerned,. it seemed like half Bynres destruction of Paradise island by Parademon onslaught, and half Ellis' mortalisation of the Asardian gods ans they're cast earthwards from the heavens.

Gods, Iam Jaded.

This reminds me, I was just re-reading Our Worlds At War and they referenced Darkseid attacking Themisycrya prior to this story. What issues did this happen in, and was the story any good? I love me some Darkseid.

Superheroes are a bit ridiculous if you look at them too long and subtlely is not a trait I associate with the genre.

A bit? The entire genre is retarded, this thread alone is proof enough of that.
I wouldn't go that far. They are myths, legends and fables for the modern age. And as such they are no more retarded than those that came before.

Seems that the new costume..and the media buzz surrouding it made a big deal, because the 600th issue of Wonder Woman has sold out..and they are making a 2nd printing of it:cool:

I just wonder how many of the new fans(?) will stick around and buy the issue 601:shifty:...

It was issue 600. They could have had a story written by a six-year-old, and it would have sold amazingly well. Plus, they didn't even have the new costume on the cover (or anywhere except the last few pages of the comic).

I'm sure the numbers will drop back to the level thay were at during Simone's run or possibly lower once the buzz and the speculators have faded.

Superman Batman: Supergirl and no no no no no. Especially not if you're a fan of Darkseid.

No, that story happened after OWAW. The story being referenced there was from John Byrne's run on Wonder Woman, where Darkseid killed half of the Amazon population. It wasn't a particularly good story, so far as I know.

Was it the "Wonder Woman: Second Genesis" trade? I think I saw that in a bookstore with Darkseid on the cover drawn by Byrne.
