Wonder Woman(NBC) *Spoilers!*

Hard to say. She has the right look, and at 5'9" she's in a reasonable height range for a Wonder Woman portrayer. As for the performance, I'm not crazy about it, but I'm not sure how much of that is the actress and how much is the unfortunate dialogue (I can't buy a Themiscyran Amazon having the same body insecurities as a typical David E. Kelley-ish American woman). In any case, as long as Kelley's responsible for the show, I'd prefer it if it never went beyond the pilot.

Variety is reporting Adrianne Palicki has been cast as Wonder Woman.

Edited to add:
Well, all the pics are of her as a blonde...
...which I suppose Wonder Woman could be, that's happened before...

Yeah, Palicki has the part. The Hollywood Reporter confirms it, too. And Palicki has been brunette lately. She was brunette in Lone Star and the pic THR has of her on their front page has her as a brunette, too. Here's a cast pic of her from Lone Star.

South African model and actress Tanit Phoenix's audition tape for Wonder Woman has made its way online. You can see it here. It gives a flavor of the tone the series is going for. Some sites have said Phoenix is the frontrunner for the part, but I don't know how much truth there is in that.

Yikes, dodged a bullet there. I know this isn't exactly HBO but how about someone who can act?

Dunno anything about Adrianne Palicki but Friday Night Lights is well regarded so maybe that's a good sign.

My first thought... Meh. She doesn't strike me as an inspired choice or as someone who could even come close to living up to Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman. She may be serviceable in the role though. I guess we'll see. I might come to like her well enough.

Looking at her pictures, I can see Wonder Woman in her, but it's more of a hot version of the character.

As for Tanit, she has the right look but I agree that the performance is lacking and I don't know if the audience will take to that accent.

Hmm, not thrilled by the choice, though I haven't seen enough of her acting to have a real opinion. I don't think she quite has the look, though it's good that she's within an inch of Wonder Woman's "actual" height of 6'0".

Adrianne Palicki..hmm:shifty:
I have to confess that I havent seen her in anything, So I really cant judge her as an actress.
But she certainly has the looks for the part:techman: :)
Its funny that some people on the net have allready condemmed the choice, even though we havent seen a single frame of her as Wonder Woman:rolleyes: Lets watch her performance in the pilot first, shall we?

As for the revealed plot points..
I admit that all of it does not very good..but I hope Kelley proves us wrong and manages to write a good show:shrug:

Adrianne was in "Smallville" as the false Kara Zor-El way back in "Smallville" season three I believe. She was also Sam's girlfriend in the "Supernatural" pilot who was killed by a demon and was in the movie "Legion". She looks the part. I guess we'll see if she can act the part.

I would rate the episode but I can't remember enough of it.

STJ? I think you meant to post in the V thread.

(But having mentioned Joel Gretsch in your post, I can't help but think it's a shame he's too old for the age range the Wonder Woman production is looking for. He would have made a decent Steve Trevor.)

Now that this seems a lock to move forward with the casting of the lead I'm curious to see where they go. Seems Adrianne has the physical traits down, tall and attractive. I assume they'll put her on a weight schedule to at least add some minor bulk and tone. She needs a bit more appropriate size to kick ass, Amazonian goddess or not.

Can she act though? I've never seen her in the projects listed.
Can she carry a show as a lead would be my only concern.
I'd hate for this to be a rehash of Bionic Woman. Meaning they didn't think it through and execution wasn't up to par.

From what I can recall she was good in Legion. Not a standout or anything but she didn't suck.
