Wonder Woman (2017)

Definitely looking forward to this with the family.... if the Cubs can break their curse, then WW can turn around the view of the DC FU?

Awww, looks like Bruce got her the original :adore:

Great trailer, would have been fun though if at the end Etta said the one thing worth fighting for was candy.

Very enticing trailer - although this is the most of Gadot's acting I've seen so far, and I am somewhat on the fence. I have a feeling her awkward line readings will become an internet meme sometime soon....

EDIT: Once cool thing I've noticed on rewatch - when the bullet is heading in slo-mo toward the Amazon, WW can see it going by. She can see bullets in flight!

Seeing it coming goes hand-in-hand with being able to deflect it with the bracelets.

Good point. It's implicit that she has heightened/accelerated senses to tell where the bullet is going (although I suppose she could extrapolate that based on the angle of the barrel or something).

I do find the huge sprays of sparks from her gauntlets a bit overdone. I understand the need for the fanciful conceit of bullets sparking as a visual cue to indicate a bullet bouncing off something, but these are kind of over-the-top. (On the Lynda Carter TV show, her bracelets had small charges attached to simulate the bullet hits, and Carter set them off with triggers hidden in her fists. There are some shots where you can see her holding the triggers.)

Looks cool, but I have to ask: Does Pine have it in all his movie contracts that he gets to ride a motorcycle?

That's odd. A positive image on glass, viewable with a black background is an Ambrotype. That's civil war era technology, well out of use by WWI.

Awkward? She has an accent, obviously, but I don't really hear anything awkward about her line delivery.

I don't think she's in danger of "becoming a meme" because she's not easily imitable, certainly not on the level that Bane or Bale's Batman were. Plus, she already was in a movie and it didn't happen...

They can get away with an accent because of her origins but I found it stuck out and was pretty noticeable myself.

With all the trailer talk, it went under the radar that the composer has been confirmed for the movie, and it's Rupert Gregson-Williams.

Thanks. A few weeks ago, I was looking for who was going to be the composer, but hadn't seen anything.

I don't think I've heard any of his stuff yet (I have got some of his brother's music) though he does seem to have done quite a bit.

It might be that the photo is fragile and has been preserved between two layers of glass (or perspex).
