Anyone else notice the similarities between that and the fake Turboman trailer in the movie “Jingle All the Way”? I noticed it before I ever watched this series. Probably a total coincidence and both drawing on similar influences. The big thing - both shot at Vasquez Rocks. Of course hundreds and hundreds , too small a number?, of tv and movies have filmed there since practically the start of the business. It just gives a similar look. Plus both are going for low budget, retro, generic superheroes. Plus both with jetpacks!

Well, IIRC Turbo Man was basically a riff on the Power Rangers. Wonder Man was going for a cheap 80s Scifi type look.

Oh, dear. Wonder why that one never took off...like the jet pack he never needed. Most of the time he used a flying belt to match his third leisure-wear costume.

You're probably feigning ignorance, but Simon's agent gave him that suit near the beginning of West Coast Avengers to be more "Hollywood" then not long after, but a couple years for us, the product testing came back, situating that Simon was a laughing stock because of that suit, so he junked it.

I kept thinking "I'm not sure but I feel like I know this guy playing the movie director from somewhere" so I looked it up.

For me, it's a result of reading the WEST COAST series barely once per issue. I have the first 220 issues of Volume One memorized, but that's strict Atlantic stuff.

Coincidentally and recently, I snagged those first 50 issues of WEST COAST for free at an undisclosed location run by extremely generous people. I quite like Englehart....

There's only 4 issues in Volume one. :D

I thought Tigra and USA Agent were going to hook up, but he couldn't tell that she was a beautiful woman under that thick matt of fur.

Quite right. I was fortunate enough to get both volumes of WCA, while forgetting it was originally a limited series. Tigra's fur was never a liability for me. If it was for US Agent, I might like him a bit less than before.
It was nice to see him portrayed in FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER anyhow.

West Coast Avengers vol 1, issue 1, James Rhodes, Iron Man, on the subject of Tigra... "Oh my gawd, and I thought that the Wasp had the smallest costume in the Avengers!"

What I was referencing earlier, near the beginning of John Byne's run, Tigra was hopped up on cat magic, practically feral, and thew herself at John Walker seconds after meeting him, which he classified as "inappropriate" and quite rightly viewed as sexual assault, so he's holding her by the scruff of her neck saying "bad kitty" and Greer overreacts from limits being forced on her and tries to slash his face off with her claws.

USA Agent did some stuff he should not be proud of, like the movie the Thunderbolts, but this isn't it.
