Woman tries to mail puppy from Minneapolis to Atlanta

Sad part, this thread reminds me of various horror news stories, or local stories of animal violence. Some random ones that popped in my head:

A local asshole, many years ago when I lived in another city, that bragged about catchy a cat, buring in neck up, then getting a push lawn mower and ... I can't finish that sentence -- DISGUSTING.

A cat that was rescued and saved after someone set it on fire; it was burned all over.

Someone who put a box, as I recall of kittens, on a road and left. It got hit by another car.

Local animal control guy, very recent, who was called to pick up a dying dog (we'll not discuss the choices of the owner's here -- that's another topic) to have him put to sleep. Shoudl have been simple enough, but when the dog didn't walk and go like a nomal pet, the animal control guy yelled, cursed and dragged it by colar across the driveway.

Okay, you're never allowed to tell stories ever ever again. You done used up all your story telling privileges.

EH-Eh-eh! Was that a story you were about to tell? NOPE!

NO STORIES FOR YOU!

Ugh... the lawn mower story....

Ugh ugh ugh. How the hell am I supposed to sleep now??

The idea of harming an animal, particularly a domesticated pet like a dog or cat, just turns my stomach. It takes a special breed of psycho to purposefully harm innocent pets.

Agreed. And in truth, it has been shown that most (if not all) serial killers started out killing animals, in particular dogs and cats.

Yes, no more stories like that. I just lost my cat, I can't imagine people doing such horrible things to a helpless little animal. If they can do that, God knows what they could to to a human...:(

Poor puppy.

What a great combination: evil AND stupid.

Not evil, but probably retarded. I mean, I've spent a lifetime sowing an evil rep, please don't associate this kind of person with me

And that looks like a yipping type dog. I can't believe it wasn't making a whole lotta noise.

Quite.

I can't stop thinking about the lawn mower story. Sometimes I wish I could un-read stuff.

It also made me want to hold my kitty.

And it takes an especially different breed of person to enjoy it, brag about it, and keep doing it.

Yes it does.

Agreed. And in truth, it has been shown that most (if not all) serial killers started out killing animals, in particular dogs and cats.

I believe people who commit such acts of aggression should be imprisoned and given therapy until such time they are incapable of doing so again.

I for one am strongly opposed to taping puppies shut in a box.

You'd think people would know not to seal a living creature inside a box.

By picking up thep uppy and putting it in the box, then taping it. :p

Anyway, I think what you mean is mail it that way, because surely you wouldn't be against that, say if the puppy was done that way hours before Christmas morning (or however long folks do that).

If the tape covers the air holes, I'd certainly be upset with that. I'm not exactly thrilled with the Christmas morning present either, though.

Nowhere near as bad as the woman in my (general) area who let 23 animals starve to death in her "shelter"

Story about a memorial service for the animals.

I used to work at the Post office and this puppy would have been dead. Packages aren't "handle with care". They are pretty much dumped in huge metal containers, sent to the appropriate post office distro center and sorted by having them thrown in larger boxes going to the zip code on the package. This puppy could have been crushed too death during transit.

Me too.... when I was younger, early 20's, had my dog out front with me on a leash when I was washing the car. A kid 15 years old came by and kicked him for no reason, my dog was laying in the grass. Grabbed the kid an punched him dead in the face, twice. He went home came back with his dad and a cop. The cop asked if I wanted to press animal cruelty charges on the kid, the dad and kid changed their minds real quick. The cop then told me he was ready to arrest the kid, the kid had admitted to kicking my dog, and that he (the cop) was a dog lover.
