'Wolverine' photo's

I was really skeptical at first when Liev Schreiber was cast as Sabretooth. For one I wanted Tyler Mane back for continuity sake, but then again I realized if Sabretooth was going to play a pivotal role, as it appears he is, then he should definitely be played by an actor and Schreiber totally fits that bill. I'll miss Brian Cox as Stryker but Danny Huston is a fine replacement.

The film sort of has a Batman Begins, Casino Royale vibe, actually, from the leaked Comic-Con trailer that I saw. Which is adept, and interesting. I like that it doesn't feel like a comic-book movie. My favorite superhero films, funnily enough, have felt more like real films and not comic-book films (Superman, The Dark Knight, Batman Begins) so hopefully this will work in its favor.

Plus, it has Tsotsi director Gavin Hood. It reminds me of Bryan Singer's attachment to X-Men ... a selection of an auteur rather than an industrialist (like, say... Brett Ratner?).

That's definitely an American unit he and Sabretooth are with in that photo. The unit insignia on their helmets and left arms looks like the blue-and-gray yin and yang of the U.S. 29th Infantry Division.

Did they ret-con Wolverine so he's American because that last picture looks like he is wearing an American helmet?

I don't have the comics to hand but he did serve with the American miltary in WW2 - so what ret-con is needed?

(yes I know he's from over the border).

The photos look good but I still need to be sold on the story that is to be told. Pictures do not convey that. When casting was being done on this it was loaded, some might say bloated, with mutant cameos. The fear is it would be bogged down in "wink wink" fan nods.

So while the pics look good I want that first official trailer(not counting the Comic Con thing).

Interesting...

I always thought he fought with the Canadian unit and was attached to the American unit...

There are so many ww2 stories with Wolverine in them it's impossible to keep straight - he's a secret agent in some, a free agent in another - a member of this army, a member of that army...
