I prefer to do things ''LEGALY'' besides, what's wrong with paying $5-10 to see a movie? I mean, A lot of people worked hard on the movie, if I don't, pay nobody pays them! Thats the standard industry expectation for the opening.

If they want to go you should go with them, to spend some time with family.

If they are going because its something they think you'll want to do, I would strongly tell them to pick something else we could do together.

And actually almost everyone associated with the film has already been paid, typically very few people in the film industry get payments based on the films performance
