^ Maybe it is the NIC instead of the router. Is the NIC set to drop connection after X minutes of idle? For the OP, do you get an IP address? That is first. Is this XP? Go to Start-->Run then type cmd to get to a dos shell. Type ipconfig and hit enter. Does it display your IP addy as another responder mentioned above? You can also try ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew. Although that might not work. Also try ipconfig /flushdns. That might help to get on the new router. In the dos shell, can you ping an internet address such as yahoo or trekkbbs? Does it return as good? Or does it say destination unreachable or unknown host. If you have an address but still can't get a page to come up, then DNS might be wonky. With a corruption in DNS you would get an IP addy, but no pages since it canot translate the name to the IP address. Have you tried typing an IP Address into the address bar instead of the name of the site? For the trekbbs it is hosted out of Slipstream which has an addy of 67.225.136.218 If I type that into my address bar I get the slipstream through-portal, which will let me go to trekbbs. What happens when you try that? Also one last thing. Turn off the router and unplug the power cable. Then plug it back in, then router might need a reset. EDIT--the formatting is all messed up, sorry for the non-paragraphs.
