Wiped Episode Discoveries

I think Power of the Daleks will be the most anticipated of these, along with the Daleks Master Plan 13-episode story.

Sadly Power is probably the least likely to exist after The Feast Of Stephen, due to Terry Nation being a dick.
I thought Dalek's Master Plan was at least as unlikely as Power of the Daleks, if not more so?

At least Power of the Daleks has a cool "Talking Animated Telesnaps" Recon on Youtube for the first 2 episodes (And half of Episode 3), so you only have to do 4 episodes with totally frozen pictures, and, IMHO, it's as watchable as the Professional Animation of the Missing Episodes

Haven't checked this out. Thanks for the share!
GB has closed its missing episode thread and banned all missing episode discussion "until the official press release," which Steven Hill seems pretty sure is coming.

Rather extreme, isn't that?

Not by GB standards. Anything that might get contentious is locked down right quick. They banned even generic discussion of file-sharing when a few copies of the series 7.2 DVDs were accidentally released early.

The missing episodes thread at Outpost Skaro is also closed, apparently.

Tom Spilsbury and Jan Vincent-Rudzki's comments have been deleted from Levine's Facebook post. Pity there are already transcripts everywhere...

And the rumors thread at the Missing Episodes Forum has been locked as well. Which will be the next to fall?

If the press conference isn't until Thursday, it seems awfully premature to lock the fora, unless the reason has nothing to do with the missing episodes themselves but with something like the Levine/Spilsbury conversation instead and the hope is that by shutting down the fora that conversation will fall down the memory hole.

If you tried to tell fans of other shows that DW's main channels of discussion regularly stop people talking about anything actually interesting they wouldn't believe you.

I don't know if it's still the case but OG/GB had a spoiler section that would delete big genuine spoilers and ban the people who posted them!

There's a story going round that a bunch of the most reliable spoiler sources were given temporary bans at GB earlier this year, starting around the time "The Day of the Doctor" filmed and ending late enough that spoilers would be inevitable by then regardless. No idea if it's true (the resentment about GB in some quarters is as paranoid as GB's own policies), but I wouldn't be at all surprised.

I'm not sure why they're all being locked. I mean, if it's just speculation what's the harm? Do they think someone will pop on and blow the (hypothetical) embargo?

Until there's an announcement all anyone can do is speculate.

If it is Enemy of the World and Web of Fear, is there anyone left of the major cast besides the companions? Bill Kerr ("Giles Kent") from Enemy is still alive but people like Nick Courtney from Web are dead.

John Levene played a Yeti in Web.

Am I the only one who gets a tad embarrassed by Doctor Who Online Fandom? The only place I come to discuss Who is here, because TrekBBS (well, at least this bit of it) is so very civilised. GallifreyBase is completely laughable. I do follow Blogtorwho and DWO on Twitter because they usually know the best gossip first, but the main Doctor Who forums are just horrible.

I've never thought GB is that bad but then I don't tend to go on the new series threads. The classic series/books/dvds/audios/conventions stuff is all pretty reasonable, no worse than here.

I think sometimes all single interest boards can go a bit OTT as the most obsessional fans tend to hang around them more than they will somwhere like here or Digital Spy. I'm a big tennis fan and the two main tennis forums can be just as bad in terms of back biting and abuse as any other fandom at its worst.
