WIP - TOS-ERA USS ENDEAVOUR - FIRST RENDER

Scott1768

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Thanks to a friend who knows Lightwave a lot better than I, I've finally been able to jump into Lightwave with both feet, and figured I'd start with my TOS-era Endeavour...a bit easier than the refit. It's far from perfect, but here's the first render, touched up in Photoshop. I'm having some issues with the rendered resolution, so this isn't as crisp as I'd like it.

As usual, comments and constructive criticism are always welcome!

She´s looking very good Scott! Please, post other views too.
Already got the lwo conversion (from Infini) that I sent you? The lwo loaded fine?

This mesh is still very much a work-in-progress. I'll post other views soon, but this is the only angle from which it is finished currently. (and that was with some help post-rendering from Photoshop!)

Belated thanks, btw, for converting that mesh for me. 'Twas greatly appreciated. I did get the LWO file to load, but I won't be able to use it. The mesh was waaay too basic for what I have in mind. It would be more work to modify it than it would to start from scratch.

here's another close-up of the TOS Endeavour in rendezvous with Enterprise...still a work-in-progress...I just need to add a couple of formation lights and correct some portholes, and it'll be complete!

My model is complete!

here is a render of Endeavour in rendezvous with Enterprise somewhere in deep space.

So my system crashes, and takes the TOS Endeavour mesh with it...it was so corrupted as to be unusable. So, I'm rebuilding it from scratch. The silver lining is that it'll be better than before. "Better, faster, stronger..."

One thing I wasn't happy with before was just having glowy windows, instead of transparent ones, where you could get hints of interior life. So this time around, I'm building limited interior sets and putting them behind the ports. This is what my first attempt looks like.

I haven't added textures yet, but I think that this will end up looking far better than my first attempt...after which I'll be starting on the NextGen-era version!

By one side, I´m sorry about the previous version but, by the other side, I´m happy seeing the new version. Yes, "better, faster, stronger..." But :wtf: it wasn´t about other show?
Seriouslly, excelent work Scott! I´m anxiouslly waiting for the TMP-TNG version. :)

Well, if you're waiting for blueprints of the TMP version, they're already available, complete with deck-by-deck plans and details at the URL in my signature below.

If you're waiting for a 3D model thereof, that'll be a few months down the road at minimum... ;-)

Regardless, thank you very much for the compliments!

So I finally finished rebuilding the TOS Endeavour mesh...I think it looks much better this time! As usual, comments and constructive criticisms are always welcome.
