I have been following this since you started, along with Havoc92 and his TOS Enterprise. Just wanted to say how amazing this model you are putting together looks. Am so looking forward to seeing it completed. If such a thing is ever possible

In my CAD time I am working on a Yorktown Class CV-6 Enterprise (I got my hands on a set of the actual plans).

I'm still in the process of converting the 2D analog plans to CAD format. It is a slow, painstaking process - but it keeps me out of trouble. Another year or so and I may be ready to start making 3D builds from the 2D digital plans. I'll be happy to share when that time comes (not much to "see" of the current work other than a whole bunch of lines being drawn on top of lines). I had to do a great deal of research to determine what the plans from the 30s were telling me (frame spacing, steel thickness, etc). While I don't expect the final product to be 100% correct, I do expect it to be about 98% accurate to the plans that I have - which is probably as close as anyone can expect to get on the 80 year old design.

I'm also an Autocad engineer and had thought to do something similar but found your work before I had even started - did you ever get to complete it? The last post from you was over 1 year ago.....

well, I changed jobs, moved, changed jobs, got sick, recovering...
life tends to get in the way of these hobbies. I spend my working days looking at computer screens, so I tend to spend my time off NOT looking at computer screens.

Sorry to hear about the sick bit and I understand the work v leasure use of computers - in the same boat myself - but would like to say was very impressed with what you have shown us so far... Been an Autocad user for over 15 years and can easily appreciate the hard work that this has taken so far.
