Love: Plowing a new trail, the quietness and the solitude of it all, running through a sheltered section of woods.

Hate: Plowing a new trail when the snow is waist deep, forgetting my gators, running in a cold wind, ice.

Despise: Skiers and snow machine riders who are taking over all the trail networks, and then getting indignant when they run into a runner or snow-shoer. Ass hats.

We rarely (if ever) get any ice. The worst thing around here is the cold wind. I've just given up and decided to pull a cap over my ears so they won't fall off.

I have a tough time running in the winter due to my asthma acting up in the cold dry air. But I am an avid snowshoer and love the peace and quiet as well as everything being covered in fresh snow.

Unfortunately I'm having turf toe surgery in a week so my winter sports season is fried before it even starts.

I can't believe one frakking toe will have me laid up for 3 months.
