^So how was it. I hear it's quite an experience.
It was a pretty good race yesterday except that felt like it went really fast. Congrats to Newman for winning it and I was happy for the guy. The emotion at the end of it with his Dad was great to see. It really seemed like Earnhardt was abandoned by his teammates though. I know all the Hendrick Cars other than Dale had issues, but it was so strange to see Dale Jr., the brand new driver for Hendrick Motor Sports there by himself at the end of the race.
Looking forward to California.

Maybe I'm just not into it today but they should have waited until tomorrow to do this race. That crash was nasty, and with more delays and more rain on the way, I'm starting to wonder if the Academy Awards will end before the race does. In terms of following NASCAR, today has been a disappointing, boring day.
Try weekend. The Nationwide (still hard not to think of it as Busch) race got rained out yesterday and the initial plan was to run that immediately after the Sprint Cup race. Best laid plans, indeed.
After seeing all that water streaming out from under the pavement in turn 3, I think they should have cancelled the race when they redflagged it.
This has been the biggest sports story of the day. I can't believe NASCAR is doing this and still trying to get this race in. I'd like to know why can't they do this tomorrow but I think it's a bit exciting to be up at 11:00 and the NASCAR race is still going on. I have school tomorrow dammit. I wish I didn't so I can pull an all nighter. Who would have thunk the Academy Awards would end before the NASCAR race.
I've got a friend who goes to bed at 9 o'clock every night who is also a big racing fan. I'm sure he's sweating right now.
They finally postponed it till 1:00 ET, 10:00 AM Pacific. Thank god. This has already been a debacle. At least NASCAR finally made the right decision.
I'd be extremely pissed off if I was Casey Mears or Junior. That was absolutely atrocious; the track was in no condition to be raced on.
Fontana's a horrible track anyways; it's too flat, and something happens every single time there's a race there. Give its dates to Vegas and Kentucky, please!

Um what race were you watching, or were you joking? It's Carl Edwards who won and Gordon came in third.

The Gordon thing was in the interview after the race. I heard him say something about coasting across the finish line in the race, but could not make out why. I don't think it was fuel.

Michael Waltrip thinks that ISC should turn California into a restrictor plate track when they rebuild the turns to fix the water seepage problems.
I have only one thing to say to this: NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! California wouldn't even come close to needing restrictor plates even with 32-33 degree turns; the speeds aren't high enough.
Just close the frakking track. It's been a disaster from Day One. The races have never been sold out; something always goes wrong; and Phoenix, Vegas, and Sonoma are all very close and have far superior races. Give the spring date to Kentucky or Rockingham, and the fall date to Las Vegas. (Oh, wait, Kentucky and Vegas aren't ISC tracks.) Give the fall date to Darlington.

I hear it's supposed to be nice on Sunday. That is great, since what happened last week was kind of embarassing.
Having to postpone a race for weather related reasons really isn't embarrassing.

Although I can't be to unhappy with it. I got to listen to the race live on Monday while running arund town in my company truck.
