Windows 7

Ok. my laptop has an annoying little "feature" that I beieve is a part of Windows Vista and wondering anyone knows a work-around for this.

My volume keeps turning itself back on. I mute the volume on the computer to keep it fairly quite so I don't get the clicks, boops and beeps of simple computer use so I turn it off and only turn it on when I watch a video or something.

Now, I know about 7's "feature" where the sound can "control" the speakers and turn them back on if you activate a program that needs them (like, say, visting a YouTube video) I've turned this feature off.

But it also seems that if I nudge the volume control knob on the laptop (as is common when moving as the laptop presses up against my gut) it turns the sound back on. (Much like you can turn the volume back on by pressing the volume control on your TV while it is on mute.)

Anyone know of a way to diable this feature without turning the sound's drivers completely off?

Put the laptop, ignoring the "lap" in laptop :), on a desk or table or coffee table or kitchen counter :)

Right click your desktop, pick "Personalize", then "Sounds", and under "Sound Scheme" select "No Sounds". Apply changes. Done. No more "beeps, sweeps, and creeps." You might still be surrounded by Assholes, though.

Maybe, but no one would dare give him the raspberry.
