WTF? I'm starting to believe the conspiracy theories about the "Stealers". What the hell was that in the end??? Chances are it wouldn't have made a differnece, but the decision not to review the supposed fumble was simply a stunning failure by the referee team.
Congratulations to the Steeler, but that was beyond belief. What a mess. And what an undeserving end to this great game.

My 4th superbowl (the last 4) and my favourite one yet, simply dogged display by AZ to keep coming back but Pitts did deserve the win and a great way to do it with 40 seconds left :techman:

Are you nuts? That was clearly a fumble and the refs got it right. His are was not coming forward with the ball= fumnble.

I disagree. Imo it was clearly incomplete. But anyway, what's outrageous is, that the play wasn't reviewed, which absolutely should have happened.

Again, I congratulate the Steelers, but the way this game ended, puts a significant taint on the Steeler's victory, there's no way around that. I'm very disappointed after watching one of the best Super Bowls I've ever seen.

Yeah, it looked like a fumble to me as well. In any event it was a great game with a great ending.

I agree, the play should have been reviewed, but other than that it was a pretty good game to watch. Congrats Steelers, but Arizona played tough. I was just thinking about the Interception to end the half and how important that play was in the grand scheme of things. That, and the stupid penalties Arizona took in the third might of been their undoing.

That was an incredible game. The Cardinals have a new fan here! :techman: (The Broncos will always be first in my heart, though.)

I think one of the biggest tells about that last play was that Warner wasn't complaining. If the ball were in his hand as it was coming forward, it seems that he'd have made some noise about it.

Not saying it would have been overturned, and that would have been fine. Not going through the motions of a 10 second replay was just a bad move PR-wise. After how long some other plays were reviewed, a quick look back at the tape would have ended it.

Just a shame, that after such a good 4th quarter, it ended on a crappy play. Would have been a lot more satisfying if it had ended with a failed Hail Mary toss into the endzone. More of a bang than a whimper...

I will most certainly be watching. I have been watching ever since Super Bowl XXIII (49ers' second win over the Bengals), with varying degrees of interest. The last two have been AWESOME. If a Super Bowl matchup is a combination of the Cowboys and the Steelers or the Patriots, that's the worst possible matchup in my eyes. So, Super Bowl XXX (the THIRD Cowboys/Steelers Super Bowl) really sucked for me.

Go Cards!

Just curious, but are you a 49er fan?

I used to be, back in the good ol' days of Montana and Rice. I was not quite seven years old at the time of Super Bowl XXIII, so the Montana/Rice connection made a very huge impression on me. In my opinion, we've got modern day versions of those men, just on different teams. Pick either of the Mannings... or maybe, as much as it kills me to say it, Tom Brady... and pair him up with Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald.

BTW, in case anyone's interested, this was apparently the second most watched Super Bowl in history

Second only to last year's, I presume?

At the time, yes. However, after I posted that Nielsen Media announced that as it turns out Super Bowl 43 was THE most watched Super Bowl ever.

I can see why. I mean, with Super Bowl 42, you get the David vs. Goliath scenario... with New England seeking to become the first 19-0 team. This year, you had another compelling matchup: Pittsburgh trying (and succeeding) to become the first team with 6 Super Bowl wins vs. Arizona, one of the few remaining teams that had never played in the big game until now, and also a team with one of the longest championship droughts (that still continues) in ANY sport... surpassed in ineptitude only by the Chicago Cubs.

That game still gnaws at me. I hate the Giants.
