You are not the only one. My brother was planning to go see it with me, but he's having back surgery this Tuesday, so that won't happen.

Myself and 9 others, consisting of my fiancee, 2 of her friends, 2 of mine, my brother and his girlfriend, and my parents. 7PM on Fri. May 8th at the IMAX theater! I plan on using most of my movie gift cards for at least 3 subsequent viewings at the local theater.

I was amazed when my girls took me to lunch for my birthday a couple weeks ago and told me they wanted to take me premiere weekend because it's Mother's Day. The 16 year old has never had any interest in scifi of any kind, but thinks this movie looks really cool. The 32 year old had that attitude for years, but announced she's started to like Star Trek and she wants to see the movie too. My husband is still deciding - doesn't want to be disappointed that the movie looks like a TV show - like previous Trek. But maybe it would be more fun if it's a girly thing without dad.

My best friend will accompany me for the pre-premiere on May 6th. He isn't a Trekkie per se, but we used to watch DS9 and a lot of other Sci-Fi together.

On May 7th, I'll go with a group of people I met at a site devoted to my favourite comedian. We'll be 3 to 5 people. If anyone here lives near Berlin and wants to join us, feel free to pm me.

I'll be taking 3 friends who like trek on the opening night. However the star trek movie rules are: don't eat noisy food, and don't talk to me during the movie.
lol so i might as well be sat by myself. but then who would stand with me in the cue?

After i've watched it properly on opening night i'll go again with as many non-trekkie mates as i can persuade lol. and since i'll have already seen the movie they can ask me as many stupid questions as they like

Hubby & I are going on the 8th. I'll take my 11YO sometime after that, and I'm going by myself on Mother's Day (that's my Mother's Day present). My 7YO has expressed interest, but we'll have to see - it may be too much for her in a theatre.
