Will we see Rose... but more importantly...

I never saw the appeal of Rose and was annoyed by the constant references after she left. Donna was the best assistant of RTD.

I've had enough Rose to last me a lifetime thanks. But for her fans, I'd certainly have no complaint if they were to drag David and Billie into the studio to record a few audio adventures.

I liked Rose, although she got a weird lisp near the end that drove me crazy. But I loved Donna more and would rather her ending was 'adjusted' a little.

This.

QFT.

I actually really liked Billie's last appearance, felt more like the Rose I'd reallty liked in Series 1. What's done is done and I could name half a dozen companions I'd sooner see return than her...

I'd love to see Amy and Jamie run into each other, the antics that they could do making the Doctor and Rory go up the wall with would be a hoot.

I like Rose but I'm in the camp that believes her story is told and that she doesn't need to return to the 11th Doctor's life.

Having said that, I wouldn't be averse to a Who-lite story that involves 10B and her; perhaps there could be parallel storylines going on in the alternate universes, one where 11 and Amy investigate a mystery while 10B and Rose are involved in their world's equivalent of the same matter.

I don't like Rose. Never have, never will. I don't really like the Daleks either. But I would SO cheer if they brought back Rose for a cameo, where she becomes canon fodder for the Daleks and is shown to permanently die on-screen, never to return again.

Rose has kinda been done to death. I think even if she were to show up again, it's way too soon. Let the Moffatt era stand on its own two feet for a while. I wouldn't mind seeing Tennant again, though.

But, again, too soon. Matt Smith needs to stand alone first.

Frankly, I hope we're done with Rose. She's had her time (and then some) with her Doctors, and I enjoyed the character, but it's time for her to fade into DW history and let the new era stand on it's own.

Bull's-eye.

Why don't we push for Liz Shaw to come back? Or use CGI to recreate Troughton for a movie?

The new era must stand on its own. RTD didn't need to bring Sarah Jane back, but it was necessary at the time in order to finally convince people that the revival was part of the same continuity as the original series. Now that's been established, there is simply no need.

Rose's story ended in Journey's End. Frankly I'd have in some respects preferred it to end in Doomsday. It was a stronger ending and at the time RTD made a big deal out of vetoing a BBC-budgeted spinoff special featuring Rose because he felt it lessened the impact -- only to do it anyway in Season 4. I liked how it was handled, don't get me wrong. But I also felt it was an incredible cop-out to bring Spock back to life too, forever destroying the impact of Wrath of Khan.

Likewise, Ten's story ended with The End of Time and his tearful "I don't want to go". I don't want to see that lessened. It's time for Matt Smith's Doctor to fly on his own. One of the things that killed Star Trek on TV was it got stuck in a rut of looking back instead of looking forward (not just with Enterprise, but Voyager got caught up in this too). If we go the entire Smith era without a mention of UNIT or Torchwood, that's fine with me (I know Smith is appearing on Sarah Jane, and we had that past-Doctor roll call in Eleventh Hour, so they're already bending to temptation).

Beyond all that, Tennant is forging ahead with his own career, while Piper is busy with her own hit TV series (and if you read The Writers Tale: The Final Chapter you'll see they barely were able to get her for her Season 4 appearances). Eccleston is off doing roles like John Lennon. None of them are likely to be interested in back-tracking in the near future.

To those who won't let go of Rose or Ten, my only suggestion is they start lobbying BBC Books to start doing past Doctor novels again, or maybe see if Big Finish can negotiate a deal to revival-era audio dramas. Or perhaps check with IDW Publishing and see if they might want to do a mini-series comic book or something...

The build up of quasi-romance and making her some kind of central figure for the Doctor to revolve around was a bit much.

Loved it. :)

I prefer the show be about the Doctor and the foes he and his companions go up against

The bad guys are all the same; it's only the wit of the writing and the character stuff that makes the show worthwhile.

I agree with both of these. Let what is done be done.

I sort of like the notion that Susan could be the grandaughter of the half-human Doctor and Rose but I suspect that she has already been given a proper fan background and it would be getting seriously wibbly wobbly timey wimey to explain how she ended up with the first doctor... and why the Doctor wouldn't know who Rose is the first time he meets her for that matter...

yea i agree rose is done, hopefully she wil stay in her own universe, lol.
i think the two characters i would want more that have been used is River Song (i can hionestly see her used as a companion for a series then lead it to 'the libary'. also Jenny the doctrs daughter who rode off in that rocket but thats just my opinion

I think it would be more interesting to have Rose pair up again with 9. Would Rose have the same feelings for 9 as she had for 10 ? And, if we go that route would Rose have feeling for 11 if they every met.
