Will We Ever See The 1990s Star Trek Aesthetic Again? Or Hear that “humm” Sound When No One Speaks?

Not necessarily. The Enterprise crew has gone back in time, and some records were downloaded in some encounters. That was the justification with Franz Joseph's technical manual.
And inspired the Star Trek TV show, leading to those bonkers short stories where the characters from the future swap places with their actors in the past...

Very few Trek fans use that razor. What's the opposite?

Occam’s Razor represents the difference between a hypothesis and fanfic. If you’re writing fanfic, feel free to say that Q made that figure appear or that the Talosians extended their illusion power via transwarp conduits and influenced someone to sculpt it. You want to reintroduce Franz Joseph’s data dump idea? No problem.

If, on the other hand, you’re making a hypothesis, the burden of proof is on you to show that the figure in question is evidence of contact with aliens and Talosians specifically rather than, say, a character from Rain Robinson’s favorite science fiction show (which could be the same “kind of star trek” Cochrane was thinking of, especially given his affinity for music of that era).

*sighs*

Humor is also lost in many sections of fandom.

The Beastie Boys are also in the Trek universe. A band who recorded songs that REFERENCE the very fictional universe in which their music appears. I just look at that and the Talosian statue/action figure the same way: as in-universe jokes not to be studied too closely for some kind of deeper fourth wall-breaking meaning.

It's really not worth looking at it as more than fun. People do remember "fun" right?

You rationalize what you can until you run into that fourth wall. A figure of a Talosian is generic enough to represent an alien from a show akin to The Outer Limits. Similarly, there is no need to incorporate more of the real world than is absolutely necessary into the provenance of alternate Kirk’s favorite songs.

Star Trek would do well to include more real world, not less. Star Trek was theoretically about our humanity explore frontiers, both internal and external. Relating to our world is a feature, not a bug.

It’s a feature up to the point where it becomes a bug. Data creates a holodeck card game which includes Stephen Hawking, who at one point in his lifetime appeared on a show called Star Trek: The Next Generation, featuring a character called Data who creates a holodeck card game including Stephen Hawking. :)

I don't see the problem.

I know Insurrection had stacks of PADDs piled up on Picard's desk to represent all the paperwork he was swamped with. Which, yeah, was just as stupid.
Not necessarily. I might want many PADDs to be air-gapped as an additional level of security. Each PADD a tabulation. In warehouses today each worker has something similar. Picard downloads and wipes each. Need to know and all that. I like TOS communicators...you know why? It keeps your eyes up! I don’t want the ease of computing. I take it each PADD could equal today’s servers...but the haptic focus is different.

It’s an overwrite since the original live-action interpretation isn’t coming back, at least not in the foreseeable future (unless the next “Supreme Court” decides that Star Trek should be period after all, and goes all Solo and/or Forrest Gump when portraying elements from TOS). Had DSC needed to extend “The Cage” segment with new dialogue and action, they would’ve of course remade it with the new cast to match DSC style, which has also been referenced on PIC.

The Star Trek production continuity is being revised all the time, and the latest version means matching DSC wherever the Talosians need to be depicted realistically (as opposed to comic art or animation, which can understandably vary between artists). When that changes, our hypotheses and theories will change accordingly.
theyre still making merchandise with the tos designs though

It's true. Nothing's been overwritten. My old TOS DVDs haven't even been overwritten with the newer special effects.

Yes, but have you played them recently? Kurtzman is insidious in his efforts to overwrite that he can remotely overwrite your DVDs...make sure to wrap them in tin foil.
