Will we ever see a red Tardis?

It's probably red in the parallel universe on Fringe.
It reminds me of the alternate ending I'd dreamed up for "Doomsday" way back when: After the Doctor says goodbye to Rose on the beach, she suddenly hears a familiar wooshing sound. She turns around and sees a red police box. Christopher Eccleston walks out, dressed in a Tom Baker-ish wardrobe, looking with a bewildered expression at a large fold-out map. He introduces himself to Rose as "the Professor" and asks her if she knows how to get to the Eye of Orion.

I know you're just being humorous, but seriously, that should not be that much of an issue. The prop is primarily fiberglass, anyway, so it should have taken little more effort nor add any weight to had made the surface look like cast cement. Keep in mind, however, the doors should remain looking like wood as that's what they were upon the Mark II boxes upon which the TARDIS is inspired.

Sincerely,

Bill

See the picture partway down. Scottish police boxes were apparently red.

Would be cool for the Master's Tardis. :)

That's odd. My wife took s trip to Scotland a few years back and has a picture of herself standing next to a blue police box.
She tried to open the doors but couldn't get in. I told her next time to take my Tardis key with her and try it.

Glasgow police boxes were all red up to a certain point, the 1960s I think. As well as the one in the old Museum of Transport which was mentioned above somewhere, there was one remaining red box on Wilson Street in the city. This was restored a few years ago (complete with phone and first aid kit!) and is now blue. I believe its also the only box of the four remaining on the streets in Glasgow that hasn't been turned into a kiosk selling coffee, ice cream or tartan(!).

By the way, here is the current modern incarnation of a police box. I walk past it every morning and don't think I've seen it work yet.

My wife said the police box was in Glasgow next to a really old cathedral.

Does anyone know how the Doctor got the Tardis back to being blue after The Happiness Patrol?

I'd only recently learned of the storyline when I found this thread.

My recollection is that he simply paints it blue again at the end of the story.

No, he gets the former members of the Happiness Patrol to paint it blue for him (well, they painted it pink in the first place, so...). Ace finishes the work just before they leave.

Yea, I recall seeing the final brush strokes

Red? Are you insane?

Every time the Tardis materializes in a new location, within the first nanosecond of landing, it analyzes its surroundings, calculates a 12-dimensional data map of everything within a 1000-mile radius, and determines which outer shell would blend in best with the environment.
And then it disguises itself as a police telephone box from 1963.
It’s probably a bit of a fault, actually. I’ve been meaning to check.
