She's read some of the novels and we're sharing recommendations for fanfiction (just read a really good one about Spock being supportive when McCoy starts doubting his effectiveness at being able to balance his Hippocratic Oath with some of Starfleet's decisions that make that oath difficult to keep).
I think the extra 30 years has mostly aged it in a good way (it's so retro that it adds to the vibe), with the notable exception to some of the 60's sexual politics which can code pretty darkly now.TOS was considered to be incredibly cheesy and dated back when I became a fan in the 90s, so I'm not sure the perception of it could have changed much in the meantime.
